That's a wonderful question! Personally, I believe that in order to regain your beliefs and reality there are a few things you can do. First, let go of the past - it's important to understand and rationalize events that have happened in the past. However, unhealthy coping skills require a present and future focus. If you can shift this focus, by letting go of the past, you will challenge your beliefs. In doing so, this will require you to learn new skills to undertake new experiences.
Secondly, learning how to monitor your moods and identify trigger points is important - in order to steer yourself towards positivism, rather than being dragged back into the dark abyss. This can be done through yoga and mindfulness practices, as well as seeing a specialist or counselor.
Third, making a change - pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is where I think you can make big steps into regaining your beliefs and reality. While this can be tough, it leaves no room for those negative thoughts and actions to creep up on you. For example, you may pursue a new hobby, change or modify your circle of friends, join a club, learn a new skill or even try a new food!
Lastly, I believe that socializing is an important agent in regaining your beliefs and reality. Staying connected to people allows you to experience various conversations - some that you may find enlightening and some that you may feel shatter you. By making the right positive social connections, you will ultimately increase your self consciousness and regain your self beliefs and reality that you're here on this Earth, you are an individual and that you have worthwhile contributions to make to society.
I think taking these proactive steps will help you regain your beliefs and reality. You'll face life with a renewed sense of purpose and feel a sense of increased self worth. Your beliefs will be clear and concise and your reality will no longer be skewed. Most importantly, always stay true to yourself. If you feel like things are slipping, though it may be hard, there's always something that you can do about it!
