We do this several times a day, but rarely do we ever pay attention to what's in front of us.
That's right, we are talking about your urine. Your urine is a great indicator of your health and body. The color, density, and smell of urine can reveal much about the state of our health. Urine may have a variety of different colors, ranging from a deep amber color to a light straw color with many different variations in between.
Here we have provided a color chart for you and will discuss what the color of your urine really means. When you are in the top half of the color scale then you are hydrated and in good health. These are the different urine colors and here is what they say about your health:
1. Clear
You are very hydrated and drink a lot of water. Perhaps you drink too much and may want to cut back.
2. Light Yellow
Everything is normal, you are hydrated and drink the perfect amount of water.
3. Yellow
In general, you are healthy and normal, but you should try and drink a little more water soon.
4. Brownish-Green
If you see this color in the toilet then drink water immediately. This color can also indicate several other things. You could be suffering from liver disease or severe dehydration. Consult with your doctor if this color persists.
5. Pink-Reddish
Have you eaten beets, rhubarb or blueberries recently? If so, then don't panic, it's normal. If not, it may be an indication of blood in the urine. It could be nothing, but it could also indicate kidney disease, tumors, urinary tract infection and prostate problems. This color could also mean lead or mercury poisoning. Contact your doctor immediately.
6. Orange
Your urine is too dark and you must drink a lot more water. You could have a liver or bile duct condition or it could be food dye. Regardless, contact your doctor.
7. Green
This color is a little tricky. There is a rare genetic disease that can turn your urine green or blue. Also, certain bacteria can infect the urinary tract causing this color. Most likely it is from a food dye from something you ate or from medication. You won't die from it, but still contact your doctor.
8. Foam or Fizzing
If it happens here and there, don't worry. It's a harmless effect that could indicate you have excess protein in your diet or a kidney problem. See your doctor if this happens all the time.
