This day I bring you the 53rd delivery of the series: Let's talk about Medicinal Plants, today the: Orange.
The orange tree, orange or sweet orange tree, is a fruit tree of the genus Citrus, which is part of the family of rutáceas. It is a medium-sized tree, although in optimal growing conditions it reaches up to 13 m in height. Evergreen foliage tree whose yellow fruit is especially appreciated in our diet and as a medicinal plant. It is a great depurative of the organism for its vitamin content, sugar, citric acid, cellulose, iron, phosphorus, sodium, magnesium and lime.
INDICATIONS:
Against the Nerves, Sweat, Insomnia: Prepare 5 grams of infusion of leaves per cup of water. Take a cup at the time of the crisis.
Against Bladder and Prostate Problems: Taking orange juice in large quantities stimulates the functions of the bladder and deflates the prostate. In general, all fruits that contain citric acid fulfill these same functions.
The uric acid is the cause of the rheumatic and gouty pains, it dissolves taking frequently orange juice. The juice should be drunk in fasting as much as possible because it removes toxic substances from our organism and prevents us against many diseases. And orange blossom oil that is extracted from the leaves and flowers, is very soft. 20 grams of flowers or leaves per liter of water, is used in all stomach problems, circulatory and nerve attacks, decreases heart palpitations.
Among the oranges are several classes all with the same properties. The sour ones replace the lemon in the preparation of salads.
