I am actually so excited for today's post. Two months ago I made the decision to get self-ligating braces to fix my problem like crooked and buck teeth. My teeth were something that really embarrassed me. I dont like smiling in pictures and I often spoke with my hand covering my mouth. Well im so happy i made the right decision. As within two months of wearing self-ligating braces, i noticed such a huge difference and i cant stop looking in the mirror every hour.

For those of you that haven't heard of self-ligating braces. Self-ligating braces are braces that have doors or clips to hold the wires in the slot without the need for elastic or steel ties to be added. Meaning, fewer appointments and less friction and pressure, making treatment faster and more comfortable. Self-ligating braces are also more expensive than traditional braces.

Anyway, at the end of March 2018, my dentist removed my wisdom tooth on my left side and 1 week ago, she also removed two of my first Premolar from the top to gain space and to correct my buck teeth(protruding teeth).

Luckily since then I have had no other problems and my teeth had already started to move.

My results at 2 months are definitely wonderful – my crooked bottom teeth were looking really straight and the wire was looking straighter as well.

I still didn't notice any difference with my upper teeth and thats the reason why my dentist decided to removed two of my first Premolar to gain space and i really hope to see difference next month. Anyway, It was a great feeling to see the results of my bottom teeth (see photo below). To feel more confident and better in myself. I’m not afraid to laugh or show my teeth as I was before the treatment started.

There is such a huge difference and I’m completely blown away and i honestly have nothing bad to say about it. I’m also used to my braces and although they don’t cause any hassle I’m so excited to have them off after a year and see my perfect smile…and eat my favorite foods! I’ll be checking in again after my next appointment with another update.

Have you had self-ligating braces before? What were your results after two months?

Sort:

i have not used any braces sis.. i'd like to but its too expensive

I have seen good results after two months of using braces. It took me more than that to really appreciate the torture of having braces lol! Yours is better than mine before having braces. I looked like an orc with some of my lower teeth jutting out haha! I still look like an orc but no more teeth sticking out lol!

HAHAHA thats cool, my problem is my buck teeth cause its hard to close my mouth and its very embarrassing. Are you still wearing braces until now?

I do not have braces now. I had that done five years ago.
