The ‘SUPER FOOD’ Wheatgrass
Super What ???
During one of our many glorious mornings whilst holidaying in Bali and searching for the perfect breakfast hub we were introduced for the first time to a super food supplement, thinking my day could not get any better, my world was about to get rocked.
If anyone has ever ventured to Bali these last couple of years, they would know that for one, it has become a hotspot for organic businesses such as coffee shops, health stores and yoga retreats inspired by European and Australian expats.
Finally having found the perfect breakfast spot in Ubud and reading through the menu, I stumbled upon a section saying ‘freshly squeezed organic wheatgrass’, it briefly described the health benefits it had to offer.
Wheatgrass was not an unfamiliar word as i had heard many people speak highly of it in the past but never gave it much attention.
What mostly caught my eye was the claim that ‘1 oz. Wheatgrass Juice = 2-1/2 lbs of Green leaf vegetables’.
I myself for a fact know that i do not eat enough vegetables as my daily calorie intake and could surely speak on behalf of the world, could this have been the answer to my problem,
had I found a solution to my unhealthy lack of fiber ?
Deciding to go with it,
'as hell, we were on holiday right'.
We ordered 2 shots of Wheatgrass along with our coffees. Very intrigued we watched as they started to blend clumps of cut grass with water.
Arriving in 2 well presented little green shots, they seemed healthier than vodka or the shots we had ordered the night before.
Did they taste better?
'No, not really', but who did ever like beer the first time right ?
For the rest of the holiday we ordered the same shots every morning and they left us feeling energized and detoxified.
Having returned home after our wonderful holiday, we had bought back as a souvenir a newly discovered health secret.

This turned out to be an easier and less time consuming way of having an intake of wheatgrass in the morning.
Adding the powder to any fruit juice will greatly smoothen the taste, although i have come to cherish and enjoy it on its own.
2 years have past now and we have kept the habit of almost religiously consuming a shot of this super food every morning and reaping its benefits.
Today i almost swear by it and can say how amazing this product truly is, as an addition to a healthy diet for a great fiber and mineral boost your body needs to help fight fatigue and detoxify your blood.
