Good day @naturalmedicine! Yes iodine is absolutely essential and it is really truly amazing stuff - yet there is little to no awareness on its true importance to thriving health! This is why education is a huge part of what we do.

There's a small amount of iodine in sea salts, but not enough for human needs. Worth repeating is that iodized salt is NOT a source of iodine at all; rather, it is iodiDe with a D. And this is not the form your body needs! Plus it's processed with other poisonous chemicals, so we don't suggest it for anyone.

Unprocessed, uncooked seaweeds like dulse and kelp are more or less the only decent sources of iodine any more, although the oceans are so polluted too that it's important to get a clean source.

This is why we recommend getting a high quality supplement, as it's almost impossible to get enough from food anymore.
