As most of you probably already know I've had a baby a little over a year ago. You probably also know that since then I've struggled with my body, not just how I look but also how my body feels and my self confidence. I did lose a lot of my baby weight and was working out daily and feeling great I might add but then we went to England and it all came to a crashing halt. We all got quite sick on the long journey over and after recovering I just didn't start back up again. I don't know about you but when I fall off the train I tend to fall quite hard and have a hell of a time getting back on it.
So on top of stopping my home workouts and healthy eating I started to eat a bunch of nonsense! I will say it was delicious but definitely not good for me and I certainly over did it as I do most things. Lol. So there I was eating all the bread and cookies and chips with curry sauce and not doing ANY workouts, not even a measly squat and then I get home and it was like WOAH! What the hell happened and how do I get back on track!?
We have been back for 3 weeks and still I have yet to get back into anything that's good for me! Yikes! And of course my body has felt worse and worse because of it which makes me want to do anything less and less. Aaaaaaaah! The cycle of awful continues! But I have made my first step. I made the decision to be better. Not just for me but for my family. I have downloaded an app called strava tonight and tom morning I am going to go on my first run in about 2 years! Holy beegeezes! I hope I don't pass out!
I have decided that I am going to start back up with my little home workouts, add in some some yoga and some running and of course getting back to my healthy eating. I am going to document it all then do regular check ins. I am going on a fitness and health journey and taking you all with me! Knowing me and my dramatic nature I'm certain there will be lots of fun highs and of course intense lows to share. I will probably cry but that's ok I am so ready for this and to get back to feeling amazing. Right now however it's time to get a good playlist sorted and grab some much needed sleep. Lots of love to you all and any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!
Best of luck with getting back on track.
The most important is to make it a habit again. You will find resistance, but you gotta persevere and keep on going.
It might sound little silly but somewhere in youtube I saw a mom doing yoga with her little baby. they seemed to enjoy it . :)
Thank you so much for the support! And yes perseverance is so important during this journey!
I do yoga... and I do it with my baby... kinda. I flow through poses while Kai climbs me like a jungle gym. Lol. Maybe one day he joins me in my flow but for now he seems to have little interest.
Thank you again! Sending you lots of love! ❤️
Happy that I've helped. Keep us updated and we will keep you accountable. :)
Wonderful! That's exactly what I'm looking for!
Small meaningful achievements over time. Welcome back to wellness.
Thank you so much! 😍
Good luck! Doesn't matter to take a break :) All that matters is you get back to making it a habit and it will become easy again. I can highly recommend strength training with weights - after I had my daughter this is what I did and I cannot tell you all of the physical and mental benefits to building muscle and strength… I feel so much more capable in functional fitness, more confident, love my more toned appearance & has helped so much with pelvic floor and bladder prolapse issues that I was having after a traumatic birth. Highly recommend even just booking an induction at a gym and asking the instructor to show you the basics of free weights. Helps increase your metabolism as well as the more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn just by being alive ! So empowering as well ! :)
Thank you so so much! I really appreciate hearing your story! And I am so sorry to hear you had a traumatic birth! Hopefully the next one, if you have another one that is, is a beautiful wonderful healing empowering experience. That's one of my passions btw. Natural birth education and assisting women to achieving the birth they want! As for weight training I feel very lucky that my partner used to be a personal trainer so I am pretty set. Just gotta build up to that. 😊
Good luck on your jorney! I just "re-started" mine after a year of eating almost everything in sight :(
That's wonderful! I just took a bit of a detour from my journey due to more toe problems which resulted in toe surgery, again, but as soon as it's healed I'm getting back to it! Are you documenting your journey?
That sounds awful. Atleast you're back at it :) I think I'll start documenting it tomorrow actually!
It was awful! BUT not as awful as the other times I did it so that's good. And I'm so excited to follow your fitness journey with you! We can help keep eachother accountable!
That sounds great! Can't wait to see future posts from you. Maybe if I get a chance at work today I'll start an introductory!
Way to go, you! Looking forward to following your progress!
Thank you so very much!
