So I am very excited to have my own duck eggs for the first time and also eating them for the first time.
Our duck started laying eggs about 5 days ago which is so cool.

We were a bit nervous to try them out since I have heard from people that they have quite different taste and that some people don't really care for the taste of it.
But we were just so excited even just to experience our pair of ducks (which is also our first time having ducks) to just start laying the eggs.

Our duck and our chicken egg.
Well the taste was pretty good and it almost taste just like the chicken eggs which we also have daily from our chickens.

You can see the big duck egg in the middle of the two chicken eggs.
Now that we have tried the duck eggs and we like them, we are excited to save some of the eggs so that when the female duck is ready for babies, we will be prepared with at least 10 eggs and hopefully have some baby ducks.
So I wanted to research for myself which I have been doing for a while now, the difference between the chicken eggs and the duck eggs and I was quite surprised to learn that the duck eggs actually have twice the amount of nutrients than the chicken eggs.
WHY ARE DUCK EGGS BETTER THAN CHICKEN EGGS?
Duck Eggs areRICHER and CREAMIER. If you are allergic to chicken eggs most likely you can tolerate the duck eggs, but always consult a doctor before trying it.
Duck Eggs are BIGGER which means it also has a larger yolk which has higher fat content, more cholesterol and MORE HEALTHY FATS.
The egg white contains MORE PROTEIN than the chicken eggs. Duck egg (9 grams of protein) and chicken egg (6 grams of protein).
Duck eggs stay FRESH LONGER since they have a thicker shell.
Duck Eggs have MORE HEALTHY OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDSwhich contribute to healthy heart and reduce inflammation which some researchers believe that the inflammation may contribute to cancer and heart disease.
Duck eggs have MORE ESSENTIAL VITAMINS and MINERALS like niacin, riboflavin, thiamin, folate, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, retinol and pantothenic acid.
Duck eggs have MORE VITAMIN D, which supports bone and skin health plus our mood. These apply only if the ducks are pasture-raised which also means that they have higher levels of vitamin D from the sun.
Ducks are EASIER to RAISE than chickens since the ducks are healthier, harder, they don't do much scratching if any on your land and their manure does not need much aging like the chicken manure.
Duck are MORE EFFICIENT EGG LAYERS. You don't need to feed the duck as much as the chicken for the eggs to produce, which makes it easier on your wallet.
The ducks tend to lay their eggs throughout the year, while the chickens tend to slow down during winter or molts.
Did you know that Duck Eggs are a BAKER'S SECRET INGREDIENT?
If you like to bake then you definitely should try using duck eggs instead of chicken eggs which make the cakes fluffier, taller meringue peaks plus lighter cookies.
The secret is in the duck eggs whites which are higher in protein content which makes easier to cook with.
I also made a dtube post few days ago with us trying the duck egg for the first time and so I will put a link beneath.
Hope you enjoyed this post and would love to hear from you if you ever tried the duck eggs and what your opinion is on them and/or if you would be willing to try them out just because of the health benefits?

Good write up! Yes duck eggs are awesome. If more people ate them they probably wouldn't really want chicken eggs anymore.
I agree with you @barberocaico.
Have a nice weekend.
Interesting article, I only eat chicken eggs usually! Upvoted!
Me too, since I just started to have my duck eggs, so I need more ducks to start eating more duck eggs.Thank you @ambr.global.
Very interesting. I had no idea about that. I do not know if I am allergic to chicken eggs but my belly reacted with some strong pains when I ate them lately so now I stopped that. Maybe I can try some duck eggs instead. Thank you for this interesting article and good luck with your ducks. May they have happy and healthy chicks.
Thank you @yoganarchista for your lovely visit and I hope that you can try some healthy duck eggs, so that maybe they will not react on you like the chicken eggs.
