In 1998 my brother got a puffy legs months after the surgery of his appendix. Instead of consulting a doctor about it he went to Bohol for a vacation. A year after he came back to process a professional driver license where he was required to have a medical clearance certification. It was found out that he has Nephrotic Syndrome, a kind of kidney disease characterized by kidney inflammation with multiple complications like puffiness in the face, legs and feet. His blood pressure accelerated to critical level. It is said that there are many factors of such disease like infection and metabolic errors. He was treated with Prednisone but his organs were not responsive to it. His creatinine leveled up and his albumin set to +3 in his urine. My brother fought the disease for eight years . He rested in March 2006 leaving the rest of us so traumatized and heart broken. I hated so much this disease that claimed by brothers life who was just 32 years old at that time. Kidney disease is just around us waiting for the opportunity to inflect anyone irrespective of age though children have a higher chance for the cure. One of the disease's avid helper is the unhealthy lifestyle. When we talk of lifestyle, it covers all aspects of our lives. Life is short and we can choose to spend it happily by avoiding our excessive appetite on unhealthy foods, unhealthy thoughts unhealthy feelings and all the like which can cause diseases that will make our life shorter than expected.
