Is vitamin C just good to prevent the common cold?

When you think of vitamin C, what comes to mind? Many would say that vitamin C has strong effects on the immune system capacity. This helps prevent the common cold from developing and becoming a threat. Vitamin C doesn't just support the immune system, it also have the following benefits:

maintenance of bones, muscle, and blood vessels.
formation of collagen
Helps the body absord iron
Cures Diabetes
Prevents Heart Diseases
Improves Your Mood
Treats Cancer

The important sources of vitamin C are citrus fruits such as oranges and grapes. Strawberries, raspberries, cabbages, cauliflowers, other leafy vegetables, red peppers, potatoes, broccoli, chilies, watercresses, parsley, brussels sprouts, cantaloupes, mange touts, and kiwi fruits are also rich sources of this vitamin. Cooking food at low temperatures and for a shorter period is important to keep the vitamin C preserved and beneficial.
