High blood pressure can be very dangerous. Blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the arteries when it is pumped by the heart. Hypertension, is a disorder in which blood vessels have a persistently high blood pressure.
Normal blood pressure in adults is 120 mm Hg when the heart beats (systolic tension) and 80 mm Hg when the heart relaxes (diastolic tension). When systolic blood pressure is equal to or greater than 140 mm Hg and / or diastolic blood pressure is equal to or greater than 90 mm Hg, blood pressure is considered to be high.
High systolic and diastolic blood pressures may have different effects on different types of cardiovascular diseases and at different ages, new findings suggest that individuals with higher systolic blood pressure are at increased risk of intracerebral hemorrhage (stroke caused by bleeding in brain tissue), subarachnoid hemorrhage (the most deadly form of stroke), and stable angina, whereas diastolic blood pressure is an indicator of the risk of abdominal aortic aneurysm.
The optimal course of action to attend this problem is to see a doctor as soon as possible; however there are several types of food that can help to greatly reduce the blood pressure and can be used as an alternative or a complement to medicinal drugs, such are:
A Clove of Garlic
Garlic is an element that should never be lacking in your diet as it cures many diseases. In this case, it will help dilate the arteries and prevent the formation of thrombi. One clove of garlic a day will be enough to take advantage of its benefits. From removing bad cholesterol and lowering triglycerides, to strengthening your blood cells and immune system and even to stop bleeding gums, there are endless benefits achieved by the consumption of garlic.
- The trick to help out with blood pressure is very simple, just swallow a peeled clove of garlic every morning on an empty stomach, that's it. It will not only help you with you arterial tension, but also will improve you health in several ways.
- Another alternative is to make a tea with a cup of boiling water and a crushed garlic clove. Add a little lemon juice and if you wish, sweeten it with honey. Take a cup daily.
If you mind the smell in your mouth after doing this, you can use a grain of coffee, keep it in your mouth as a candy for a few minutes, also a few sips of milk will remove the smell. The healing benefits wildly surpass the smell in you mouth though.
Garlic & Lemon Beverage
This two elements combined have the property to lower blood pressure very fast. To make one litre of the beverage the recipe goes like this:
- One lemon peeled superficially enough to leave the white cover as intact as possible (you could also use the lemon unpeeled if you don't mind the bitter taste of the green cover).
- One garlic head, unpeeled.
- Half a cup of water.
- Put the lemon, the garlic head and the half cup of water in a blending machine and blend it all until you get a homogeneous paste.
- Boil one litre of water in a cooking pot.
- When the water is boiling add the paste and let it cook for about 10 seconds, then turn off the stove and cover the cooking pot, let it rest until the mix is at room temperature.
- Strain the mixture and put the liquid on a glass jar (do not use plastic to contain the beverage).
- Put the jar on the fridge and drink half cup in the morning with an empty stomach and another half cup at night before sleep. This will keep your blood pressure on safe levels, while also help you to reduce or even remove bad cholesterol from your arteries.

This vegetable can be very helpful to reduce the blood pressure in your arteries, it also contains high quantities of potassium and folic acid. Potassium is very important in the diet of athletes and the folic acid being a type of vitamin B provides several healing effects to the body.
This simple recipe goes as follow:
- Take one unpeeled aubergine and cut it in half, then each half in half again, which means you'll end with the vegetable cut in 4.
- Take one litre of water in a glass jar and put the four parts in it.
- Let it rest on the fridge for one night and the next morning take a glass of that water, preferably with an empty stomach.

White Hawthorn
White hawthorn is a very popular plant used to treat hypertension and one of the most effective there are. It is used to also attend a variety of heart conditions, such as coronary heart disease, heart failure, angina pectoris and high blood pressure. It is a great protector of the structures of the heart, it helps to improve the quality of the blood that is pumped by this organ, it enlarges the size of the blood vessels and it increases the transmission of the nervous signals, in turn, relax the vessels more distant to the heart.
- Simply drink one cup per day of this infusion.
Black Chocolate
Black chocolate (the bitter, the better) will also be of great benefit to you because its components reduce the pressure. Do not count neither milk nor white.
- Just eat some black chocolate few times a week, doubt it will be any problem with this huh ;)
Lemon Grass
The infusion made with this simple yet powerful plant can help you to lower your blood pressure in minutes, its oil also contains a high concentration of and aromatic terpene known as linalool, studies suggests it is as effective as the chemo used to treat cancer cells (minus the toxic side effects). It is also an anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial plant, plus it taste delicious, whats not to love.
- Take a couple leaves and boil them in a cup of water.

Alternate between all this recipes or tricks, workout or even only walk a couple squares a day, any kind of physical exercise will improve your health and your life as a whole.
There are many other ways and food types that can help with easing your blood pressure, this are the things I've been doing to ease my own blood pressure and they have worked nicely, up to the point that I barely take any pills anymore. Really hope it can help you too :)
Cheers.
