Be Aware of your health!

We live in the 21st century with the technology that give us access to all kind of information on the internet if we look for it if needed. In today’s society, it is recommended to be proactive with our health. Learning and deciding for ourselves which options are available and appropriate to treat any health related issues that we can encounter is extremely important. Awareness and willingness are keys to achieve those goals.

I did some investigation and find a more appropriate and efficient way to be in charge with my own health. The challenge was to obtain real, reliable sources of information and after an intensive research I came across a more functional and holistic medicine that could greatly compliment with the traditional medicine that we all know and rely on to. This is my opinion only and I don’t try to convince you but just to consider other alternatives out there.

Traditional medicine is organized around the theory of diseases, meaning that a person becomes sick by contracting it. Each disease is seen and treated individually. The human body is not considered as a whole. Modern medicine is more invasive and consist of promoting, maintaining or restoring health by diagnosis and using treatment. The symptoms are treated but the cause is overlooked. The use of medication and its side effect could be a concern and all symptoms are not fully controlled.

Holistic or alternative medicine is used in more natural way with an active change of eating, natural supplements, an involvement of a healthier lifestyle change. The therapies are based on the body’s ability to heal itself by treating the cause of the symptoms. Both styles of treatment, conventional and alternative medicine are used, this is called integrated medicine.
Promoting physical training sessions for prevention and recognized by health insurance would be a good start today. Too often now, the use of technology everywhere, makes adults and children less active than ever. They spend more time sitting than standing in a day, every day all year long. Why can’t we start with an exercise and nutritional program aimed at dropping weight, enhancing movement skills, undoing sitting position and increasing functional capacity?
I discovered so many interesting facts about the amazing human body that we all possess since the day we were born, unfortunately we never really learned about its perfect mechanism and function. We take it for granted. We value all aspects of our life with school, knowledge, career, financial lifestyle and investment, retirement but rarely with the basic of all. US!

We never had a clear and profound concept of our own human nature and characteristic and rarely paid attention to it. We just live and learn about ourselves when we face physical and psychological issues through the course of our lives.
As you probably know, digesting and absorbing food and water is essential for human life, proper nutrients will provide a strong immune system, crucial against internal and external diseases. Body functions are regulated by cells and hormones needed for reproduction, growth and repair, keeping everything in perfect control and balance. A healthy digestive and endocrine system are necessary for an optimal health. As we getting older we want to maintain or improve our life as long as we possibly can. We have to make the best choice as much as possible and need to learn and provide what our mind and body need for wellbeing and happiness.
Oh, by the way Did you know that the human body has two different ages: a chronological age and a biological one. Chronological refers to the actual time a human has been alive, while biological refers to how old that human appears. The modern medicine needs to take in consideration this fact. We can’t change the time but a healthier lifestyle is extremely valuable for longevity and youthfulness. We are the one in charge, we are the one in control.
