According to the English Oxford dictionary,the term "worry" means 'to disturb the peace of mind',afflict with mental agitations or distress'.It also means 'to be troubled,to give way to mental anxiety'. Worry causes a lot of mental and nervous disorder,it makes one regress and deviate from solving the cause of the worry.
People worry about so many things which includes health issues ,financial status,how the past years have been,what tomorrow holds and so on.Now,let's focus on 'worrying about the past,present and future.People fear their past based on their deeds moreso, they worry about what tomorrow holds for them,thereby making the present moment a distress unto them.However,worrying about the past doesn't change anything and it doesn't change the future(unborn tomorrow),therefore shut down the dead past,let it bury itself..stop worrying about it,it wont change the past,then the best way to prepare for the future is to concentrate with all your intelligence,all your passion on doing today's work greatly well,focus on the present!.
Accoding to the Holy Bible,Jesus said 'take no thoughts for the morrow' which is a wise counsel of perfection as a bit of oriental mysticism.These words were said over 300 years ago and the word 'thought' means 'Anxiety' i.e "Have no anxiety for tomorrow".Therefore,this means take thoughts for the morrow for proper planning and preparation but do not have anxiety for the morrow.
Peradventure ,you still have worry problems,then ,one can apply the magic formula of Willis H.Carrier by doing these three things:
1 Ask yourself;'What is the worst that can possibly happen?'
2 Prepare to accept it if you have to.
3 Then,calmly proceed to improve on the worst.
These steps alone ain't enough,one has to analyze and try solving the worry problems,ways in doing this includes;
1 Get the facts.
2 Analyse the facts.
3 Arrive at a decision and then act on that decision.
When we are worried,our emotions are riding high but here are two suggestions that I have found helpful when trying to go away from problems in order to see the facts clearly and in an objective manner.
1 While trying to get the facts about the problem worrying me,I act like am collecting the information not for myself but for someone else.This helps me to take an impartial view of evidence,this will curb out emotions .
2 While getting the facts,I sometimes pretend that am a lawyer getting ready to argue the other side of the issue i.e I try to get all the facts against myself,all the facts damaging to my wishes and the facts i don't want to face.
Then in analyzing the facts,one can just take four steps;
1 Write down precisely what you ard worrying about.
2 Write down what you can do about it.
3 Decide what to do.
4 Start immediately to carry out that decision.
Hence,by doing all these,u will have a rest of mind and arrive at a solution.
Summarily,worrying is just a waste of time,a distractor,a deviator and it's a state that breaks down the health system.It offers nothing other than make one a fool. So therefore,we all should live a life of no worries and tackle problems with earlier mentioned steps.Hence, STOP WORRYING because most of things we worry about never happens
