We've all heard about the contaminants in our tap water, haven't we?
From fluoride, to mercury, chlorine, lead and aluminium, including pesticides and hormones, there's a deadly cocktail in each drop that arrives piped through pumps and water treatment centres throughout most of the world.
And we are literally made of water...the percentage of water in our bodies varies wildly but its high...between 60-75% depending on gender and age and also on which source you read (see link at bottom of article).
Without it we die. In 3 days. Simples.
You can live for a long time without food but without water...most biological life will die. And fast.
When seeking life in the galaxy, on other planets, out there in the vast reaches of our known universe, the main search parameters for scientists and astrophysisists...is this...is there any water?
That's how important it is!
So we all get that.
We also get that these days its not so safe to drink it any more. In many countries the fight to find and transport water is part of the daily grind, the struggle to survive, focused entirely on obtaining clean water. But if you are lucky enough to have a choice, what do you do to ensure your water supplies are as pure as the driven snow?
Just what IS the answer? We all know we need it. From bottled water to artesian well waters, spring waters, flavoured water, alkaline water, an endless stream in the marketeers dream, flood the market place on a daily basis. So what do we do? Drink bottled? Carbon filtered? Alkaline? Reverse Osmosis? See the water comparison chart in the links and credits secrion at the end of this post.
For me researching this was a process of diving deep into murky waters...and yes, dear steemies...the water puns will keep on flowing! When you dip your toes into this research pool you find that it is filled with dark black holes, conspiracies, health nuts and quacks, mass media brainwashing, even scientific misinformation! It was quackers! I was ducking and diving all over the place just to glean glimpses of the truth.
Eventually I came to the conclusion that distilled water was the best option. After all, it falls from the sky as rain already pre-distilled doesn't it? And yet, with pollution, nuclear accidents and acid rain (possibly chem trails too) we cannot even trust that! It's even illegal to collect rain water in many places!!!
So I bought a table top distiller in 2012 and I began distilling my own water. I bought a Megahome distiller unit like this with a glass collection jug (I wouldn't recommend the plastic jug version for obvious reasons).
And just so we are clear, I am not affiliated in any way with Megahome as a company but this piece of kit is one puppy I'd save if (heaven forbid) my house caught fire! I have used it daily (often twice daily) for over 6 years now and it has (unlike so much else) never let me down. Oh yes, I have BIG love for my trusty distiller!
The unit is easy to use, easy to clean and the results??? Oh my, this is the pure taste of clean, soft and unadulterated water, fresh as mountain breeze, a glass of thirst quenching heaven. The health benefits began to acrue within about 2 weeks when I noticed an increase in the clarity of my thought processes, my energy was balanced and the most immediate change was in my hot flashes. All my menopausal symptoms turned off like a tap. Done and dusted. Over. Never to return. People have reported all kinds of health benefits from drinking distilled waters...the website Aquarius The Water Bearer (link below) is overflowing with testimonials from happy distilled water drinkers who have reversed all kinds of diseases, health issues and malaises.
Drinking distilled water even comes with spiritual ramifications, as Andrew Norton Webber will tell you in the video link here, from decalcifying the pineal gland to astral travel, to deepening the experience of meditation, to sudden switching on of latent psychic abilities, there are many unforeseen benefits as he explains in the 38 minute video.

All from humble pure H2O. A simple molecule with such HUGE impact.
And if you were to see, and smell, the gunk that the distillation process leaves in the drum after completing a cycle...the calcified remains of dirt, poisons and contaminants at the bottom of the main tank, you'd understand just how gross our tap water has become. It's totally ming! And when we drink it that's what is flooding every cell of our bodies!
And should you need any more convincing I will ask a beautiful soul and naturopath called Barbara O'Neill to further explain the basic necessity of water and how to ensure your cells are fully hydrated for optimum health and well being. Her simple explanation of how water enters a cell is the best I have ever seen, as she carefully shows you why both water and salt are required elements for vibrant human health. I will have more upcoming posts on the boogey man of nutrition...and our ambivalent relationship with salt...at a future date but for now Barbara will reveal all here...

EVERYTHING depends on water. Until we humans clean up our act and start to appreciate that adding toxins to our environment, the poisons and chemicals in water will affect more than we are even yet aware of. So distilling water seems to be the best option to ensure that your daily dose of this life giving substance is are pure, clean and wholesome as possible.
H20 - One atom of Carbon, two atoms of Hydrogen. A simple formula denoting a miraculous substance that our ancestors drank freely from streams, but in our modern times, it now requires our care, our respect and our love. And it would seem steam distillation!
Just add water, folks...but make sure it's PURE 💦

look into kagen water, the idea of human drinking water is has been completly misunderstood by current societies,
Interesting...thanks very much for adding to the discussion @justthoughts. I have heard of Kangen water, the alkaline antioxidant water...is this the one you are referencing?
Maybe its me but I'm not too sure what you mean by "the idea of human drinking water has been completely misunderstood by current societies" but I would like to learn more if you'd be kind enough to explain?
Happy steeming and thanks again ⭐️
Agreed distilled is the best. Upvoted and resteemed :)
You're SO right, Tony, it truly IS! There is such a lot of misinformation about distilled that I felt compelled, from the point of view of experience, to 1. dispell the myths and 2. explain the rationale behind it and 3. show through my personal testimonial what it can do. The two videos are also excellent resources amd explain everything far better than I can.
Thanks HUGELY for being so kind in resteeming and upvoting, it's very much appreciated and your support will always be reciprocated by me!
We gotta keep going with the flow...of distilled water!! ⭐️
Thanks for your upvote!
Water is very important. No water no life, thats the law of nature. You are right, this is the miraculous subtance that all os us need.
Boom! You nailed it. Simples. Every single day we need the attitude of gratitude for ALL the blessings nature, in her abundance, gives to us❤️Thanks so much for commenting⭐️
This exact topic was just on my mind too! I literally just watched that Andrew Webber video yesterday on youtube. I have been thinking myself which type is best but there is a TON of misinformation out there.. I majored in biochemistry and I still have trouble weeding through to find truth. Thanks for posting this video - I'm going to look into the Megahome product.
Thanks so much for adding to the discussion @amariespeaks! You're exactly right, you wade into deep waters of counter arguments and positive comments when looking into distilled water, for sure.
What eventually swayed me on the side of the distilling my own water wasn't the scientific evidence of it's purity, rather it was the sheer volume of highly favourable personal testimonials from people who had made the switch to distilling it themselves. Word of mouth is the oldest, but often the truest, measure of the efficiacy of something, and I decided to give it 6 months of trialing before either adopting it or aborting the experiment. Its farily obvious from this post that I am happily still distilling to this day...6 years later and many many gallons of pure water later, I am still a distilled water baby! 💦❤️
Happy researching and don't hesitate to give me a shout if I can help in any way? Best wishes, Lily ⭐️

You're very welcome!! It is very well deserved; any reader can tell you put a lot of effort into this post. :)
This is the sort of post for which I say we Need an Index. This should be printed and letterboxed with all that junk advertising, so folk at least have an opportunity to read before casting aside. I swear, I get So angry sometimes, watching a running suburban hose while the resident blithely sponges his vehicle. And don't even talk about the Olympic swimming pools worth of drinkable water that are unthinkingly used to wash gold from soil, aaarrhh¡ Yet, show me a politician raising this 'intrinsic to life' issue with his constituents?!
Karma come, karma go, we will all pay our balances. There is a Law in Physics that reminds us so, and religions often refer to 'as above, so below', but cause and effect will weigh with everyone eventually. I live in a mostly desert country, and even here, govt rarely has the gumption to force the issue about water. There probably isn't enough revenue involved yet, or am I just too cynical¿
Like your machine, any particular store, Amazon, perhaps Kmart ¿¿
