It seems to be the time of year when a lot of people are trying to get -- healthy… All those New Years resolutions, that haven't been tossed to the wind, yet (it's still early).., are in jeopardy of becoming just a memory.
Now, I can't help you with becoming a better person, quitting smoking or improving your financial situation… But I can give you a few super healthy drinks, that can help with.., the one that had to do with getting healthy…
Sometimes we bite off, more than we can chew -- literally… But with a few fail safes, a couple of back-ups -- we don't have to fall completely on our faces. And have a better shot at actually sticking too.., and exceeding your healthy resolutions.
Tea Time:
The two drinks Im going to mention are tea… The first is yogi tea -- but real yogi tea. When Yogi Bhajan came to the west to bring his style of yoga (kundalini) after class he offered the students a mix of -- cardamom, clove, cinnamon, black pepper, ginger and a tad of black tea… His students called it -- Yogi Tea.
When Yogi Bhajan was a military commander in India there was an epidemic among the troops. He ordered all of his men to fill their canteens with Yogi Tea and drink nothing else, not even water. His battalion was the only unit that didn’t get sick! Yogi tea purifies the blood, lungs and circulatory system. It cleans the liver and has many more unseen benefits.
This is such a great habit to get into -- making a big batch of fresh brewed Yogi Tea… It doesn't take too long, a can get all the ingredients at the health food store or online (preferably organic).., and just the process of making it, somehow makes you feel better -- maybe it's the amazing smell that fills the room while brewing…
Cloves take away pain, cardamom aids digestion, cinnamon is good for the bones, black pepper stimulates the digestive process, and ginger is an Ayurvedic panacea, giving strength and energy. And it's a great anti-inflammatory. Plus, the final product is much than the sum of it's parts… These specific ingredients blend together to create a very special life affirming beverage.
If you can't tell Im a big fan of yogi tea… I have been drinking it for over 20 years -- and still love it. I make a huge batch and than pour it into big glass pitchers to store for a few days. I also drink it cold -- excellent.
1 -- Yogi Tea Igredients:
- 1 Gallon Water (purified preferably)
- 30 Whole Cloves
- 40 Green Cardamom Pods (crush the pods for better flavor)
- 8-10 Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks
- 40 Black Peppercorns
- 1 Large Finger Fresh Ginger
- 1 Teaspoon Black Tea
Yogi Tea Preparation:
- Boil water
- Add cloves let boil for a minute or two
- Add cardamom, cinnamon, peppercorns, ginger
- Cover and boil very gently for 40-45 minutes
- Add black tea
- Let sit for a minute
- Strain
You have just successfully made a big batch of super healthy yogi tea -- good job!
The next tea is going to.., kick it up a notch… It is a little more involved and you might have to hit your local Chinatown for the ingredients (or just order them online).., and is capable of activating genius -- tapping into, or poking that part of you, you don't tap as often as you'd like too…
The Creator Tea… is a batch of tea made with the wisdom of ancient China and their wealth of knowledge they can contribute to our health, mind and spirit… The synergy that is created when the below ingredients are brewed together is almost magical. It taps that part of us, that is responsible for genius -- that part of us many are afraid to go to, or have a hard time getting there… And it's pretty damn healthy, too!

Changing Your Health
When I lived in Los Angeles I hung out quite a bit at an herb/tea shop on Beverly Blvd just east of Doheny (Im blanking on the name)… But a bunch of hot-shots hung out there and spent a lot of money on the elixirs, tonic and herbs from this place -- they were extremely knowledgeable. These days, I believe Dragon Herbs (on Robertson Blvd in Beverly Hills) is the place to go -- I recommend the Tonic Alchemy Smoothie if you happen to live in Los Angeles.., it's like the healthiest drink on the planet -- something like 71 different superfoods and superherbs, all of the highest quality. That's the thing about Dragon Herbs (you can order online), the quality of there herbs is unmatched.Although this may seem like quite a bit of effort -- making these two teas… I assure you, it is worth the effort. Just the action alone, of DOING it, with the intention of bettering your health, will work wonders… Actions, as bold as this -- attract other healthy things into your life like a magnet. Instead of attracting all kinds of drama, that can harm us on multiple levels.., we start to attract a healthier energy -- because that is what we are giving-off. CHEERS!
P.S.,
I am not affiliated with.., or know anyone affiliated with the above mentioned stores or brands -- it is just through personal experience and education that I recommend these two life-changing teas.
