Because where I live, sometimes frozen is actually better than fresh, if that makes sense. I live in the midwestern United States, where most berries and fruit are not grown because of the climate. They are shipped in, and by the time you get them in a supermarket, they are already old and losing some of their nutrients. While fresh is definitely better, sometimes frozen can be the next best thing if a particular fruit is out of season. I also end up buying fruits and vegetables in bulk when possible to save money, and then I'll freeze the extras.
