Why and how should we keep our liver healthy?

in #health7 years ago

Everyone knows liver is a main digestive organ in human body. If it stops functioning even for a single day, people will die. Though it has several functions, its main function is to convert the food that we eat every day into small particles so that it gets digested easily and create energy for human body. It can happen only if your liver is healthy and the health of liver depends on our diet that we eat every day.

In present day, most people are inclined to take fast foods and processed foods, which increase the toxins level in the body. These toxins impact the liver and stop it to function properly. In this condition, cleansing process get affected which occurs through various organs such as the digestive system, the lungs and the skin.

Unhealthy liver is unable to form bile, which creates problem in assimilating nutrients properly. In lack of necessary nutrients, our body becomes weak and sick. Unhealthy liver also interrupts various organs’ function such as eyes, kidneys, brain and the joints. There are various reasons that force us to care our liver:

It acts as energy generator

The liver not only helps digest food particles, but it can also absorb necessary vitamins and nutrient that our body needs to function. It controls iron supply for our body and helps in generating energy which makes our body energetic so that it can keep working for whole day.

Ability to regenerate

Our body has several organs including liver and they have their own features. Liver is such an organ which can grow itself. That’s why it can be transplanted into another person who really needs it. Only a small piece of liver needs to be transplanted into another, later it develops itself and becomes a healthy liver that can function properly.

It works as a detoxifying agent

We eat several foods including such foods which are loaded with harmful substances. If these substances stay in our body, it can affect the system badly.  In this scenario, liver works as a detoxifying agent and helps in removing these toxins out of our body system.

The liver also helps in producing blood

Everyone knows that bone marrow produces blood. But this important production also occurs in liver. Liver starts working before we come out of womb and produces blood for us.

It transforms medicine into another form

Our body can’t be able to absorb medicine that we take. It can be possible with the help of liver. Yes, liver transforms the medicine into another type so that the body can absorb and process it.  Without this process, medicine is useless for us.

Liver can store sugar elements

When our body feels exhausted or functions below standard level, liver delivers the sugar content via blood vessels to enhance its performance. Liver accumulate these sugar elements from the foods that we consume.

Bile formation

Bile formed by liver cleanses our body system by removing harmful toxins that we take with some special kind of foods that are loaded with these substances. It also helps in converting fats into smaller parts, which later get digested by lipase better. Lipase is secreted by the pancreas, which also regulates the sugar level in our body. So, now you can understand how liver is important for our body.

After the above information you can understand how liver removes the harmful toxins from our body. But it is possible only as long as your liver is functioning properly. And your liver function depends on good diet which is loaded with important nutrient and vitamins. There are some foods that are rich in vitamins and nutrient and can cleanse your liver by removing risky toxins.
