Why Trumpcare will be as Disastrous as Obamcare

in #health8 years ago

Today the republicans released a 142 page health care bill that's supposedly their answer to Obamacare.

Here's a first look at what's inside...

  • Ends ACA mandates for individuals AND employers

  • Funds the ACA's cost-sharing subsidies through 2019 but then only provides tax credits for people with incomes up to 350% of the federal povery level

  • Tax cuts largely similar to those in the House bill. That includes repealing a 3.8% tax on investment income retroactively to January 2017 and delaying the repeal of a 0.9% payroll tax until 2023

  • Contributes $62 billion to a "State Innovation Fund"

  • Seeks funding for insurers through 2021

  • Allows 'children' to stay on parental plans until the age of 26

  • Bill suspends 'Cadillac Tax' on employer health plans through 2025

In my opinion, if passed, it will be just as much as a disaster as Obamacare for the simple reason that it doesn't address the underlying problems with healthcare in the USA.

You can never have "affordable" healthcare because sickness is VERY profitable and the swamp creatures that represent the entities that continue to rape and pillage the American people will never allow their golden goose to be cooked.

Can we really have affordable healthcare if it costs $10 for an aspirin at the hospital?

Our so-called healthcare system is really a sick care system designed to manage disease and the only way I see that we will ever have affordable healthcare is by repealing the current healthcare system and replacing it with a system that focuses on prevention of disease instead of managing it.

In Washington it's the same old swamp crew serving the same old swamp masters and if anything truly revolutionary was proposed, like what I suggested above, it wouldn't stand a chance.

What do you think?

I believe the current system is DESIGNED to make us sick so that it can manage our disease.

First off healthcare in America is a monopoly, secondly Obamacare was written up under a guise behind closed doors. It is failing state by state, and became a tax amongst the poor, and middle class as rates have increased over 100% in many states, as providers have left exchanges causing bad health plans. It needs to be fixed, and i agree with the new administration on fixing it. Nothing comes quickly, so patience is a must, and not criticizing every move on the issue. Lets get a fair base in place, and work to make it better.. I agree with a lot with what you have written.

Completely agree...it's the healthcare monopoly in America that's the problem with healthcare, and that's a big problem.
