We can harness and sync the power of our minds to be calmer, sharper, clearer and more focused.
Brainwave entrainment is the brains electrical response to rhythmic sound or light. In as little as six or seven minutes our brains will in fact mimic higher and lower sound vibration.
Entrainment is in fact a physics phenomenon and is the synchronization of two or more rhythmic cycles.
For the purpose of this article, there are 5 main frequencies to discuss;
Gamma – 27+Hz: formation of ideas, learning, memory processing, language
Beta – 12 – 27 Hz: Waking, daily adult life, logic, tasks, a to b, linear, can result in disorders such as depression if too much
Alpha – 8 – 12 Hz: Awake yet relaxed, calm, seasoned meditation practitioners, high end athletes (“the zone”)
Theta – 3 – 8 Hz: Light sleep, extreme relaxation, receptive mental state good for auto-suggestion and affirmation work. Up until age 6/7 are in Theta (like being a camcorder)
Delta – .2 – 3 Hz: Deep, dreamless sleep, lowest and slowest, body is repairing and resetting internal clocks.
Essentially, we can change our brainwave patterns. The more we come down into the lower and slower frequencies, the more relaxed, focused, at peace, and connected we are, while increasing our energy and our bodies ability to cope with stress and other external influences.
