IMPORTANCE OF TOMATOES

Tomatoes is a common thing to people. In Nigeria for example, people use it for cooking mostly stew. Apart from cooking tomatoes is of no use to them. Some don't even know they can buy tomatoes not for cooking but to eat it raw. It may sound funny to some especially in the eastern put of Nigeria.

Tomatoes can be taken raw, infact it is very healthy to eat tomatoes raw. Tomatoes contain many nutrients /vitamins that are good for our health. It contains vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin B6, thiamine. It also contain fibre, copper, magnesium, potassium, manganese, protein etc.

Some benefits of tomatoes include:

  • It protects the heart, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease.
  • It fight against cancer. It prevents every type of cancer.
  • It reduces cholesterol.
  • It improves digestion.
  • It is good for skin problems e.g sun burn.
  • It is advisable to use for those suffering from urinary tract infection.
  • It provides relief from diabetes.
  • It stimulates blood circulation.
  • It is full time antioxidant and help in fighting several diseases.

Please for those who think that tomatoes are just meant for cooking, you have seen that it is not really so. So please always make use of tomatoes, buy it, wash it very well and chew, it is both regarded as a fruit and a vegetable.

Don't neglect the importance of tomatoes, it freshes the body and make you to feel young. Yes it is anti-aging.

Well this is certainly new and interesting, i love tomatoes, i blend and cook it as stew, i cut it into eggs before frying and i use it in salad.

But i've never known it contains ao much vitamins...

Tomato is a widely cultivated plant well known for its benefit. I think expressing your writing should have been somewhat better.
