Are There Any Foods That Reduce Inflammation? - This is What I Have Found

in #health7 years ago

Let's talk about inflammation and how foods can naturally reduce it's effects.

Inflammations, within the body, show signs of soreness, pain, and at times, even loss of movement. It takes a while to subside and a bit of help to hasten the process of healing, but eating the right kind of food to reduce the inflammation is the best and natural alternative.

Apples have flavonoids. This is an anti-oxidant that has also been found to have anti-inflammatory actions. Coupled with Vitamin C and dietary fiber, the anti-inflammatory action has multiplied three times.

Wild Salmon is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. If you do not know where the salmon came from better opt for the salmon in the can. These are usually caught in the wild and canned at port.

Turkey has high contents of selenium. Selenium, a mineral, attaches to the protein to make enzymes. These have antioxidant properties which, greatly improve the symptoms of inflammation.

Non GMO Tofu and Tempeh are soy foods that are great sources of plant-based protein which is basically an anti-inflammatory protein. This is highly recommend for vegetarians.

Walnuts also have that great anti-inflammatory agent Omega-3 fatty acid and Vitamin E which also has an anti-inflammatory action. But before eating the walnut make sure that you soak it first to take out the enzyme inhibitor, making it easier for the stomach to digest them.

Blueberries contain very high levels of antioxidants that will help reduce the inflammation symptoms. Actually, fruits and vegetables contain vitamins and minerals that are in themselves antioxidants. But some stand out among the rest because of the amount of antioxidants present in the fruit like in the case of blue berries.

Garlic is laden with sulfur compounds that induce the immune system to combat an infection. The infection being the core of an inflammation would be reduced and the inflammation will subside.

Onions contain lots of quercetin which is a very strong antioxidant that can help fight inflammation.
