NiV virus is a serious infection spreading from animals to humans. This virus causes encephalitis. NiV virus is related to the Hendra virus which is related to viral respiratory infection of horses and humans. The virus spreads rapidly and affects the brain, so that within 48 hours, the person can go into coma. Nipah virus is therefore the most fatal because it has not been found any treatment till date.
