I went to visit my hubby at the hospital for about 15 minutes before he was carted off for surgical debridement of his right leg's wound. I was happy to give him a kiss and to see him again.
Let's just say on my way home, I didn't even get to the main highway. I got to about the main entrance to the hospital and I apparently just collapsed. All I recall is I felt a little stress in my chest for a brief moment and then I end up waking up in the ER.
Right now they're pumping my IV with fluids and giving me glucose and insulin and some calcium something. I'm not given much information but I was told by my nurse in passing that all this is to lower my potassium levels.
I still don't know if I just fainted or what. I might be here for a little bit, not sure how long. I'm on mobile right now. I'll give any updates about my condition and what happened as a comment. For now I'm going to ask my nurse for something for pain, my head and chest hurt real bad.
Update: I had a seizure for 9 minutes. My chest and head hurt because of how I ended up landing to the ground. Nurse is coming back soon with dilaudid. or however it's spelled. Also I'm going to be kept here as long as my potassium levels remain high. When it's to a healthy level they'll discharge me.
Update 2: I feel extremely weak and tired, like I had a cramp throughout my entire body. I was told by the doctor overseeing my care that my potassium level in my blood is so high that I could drop dead like a light and that I'm lucky I only had a seizure. Fucking yikes man.
Currently waiting on a vampire to draw blood for more labs later. They're ordering a full renel panel.
Ok, I'm discharged from the hospital and back at home. I feel like a pincushion.
