My knowledge about Fish oil.

in #health7 years ago

About 6 years ago I started working at a natural health food store in my home town. I was offered a position to be able to work in the natural supplement department. I took the postion after much debating if this is something I wanted to do or not. I am thankful I did, cause I have learned so much. Not only had it opened up many doors for me along the way. But the knowledge I have learned has become wide and expansive in the natural health world. It is pretty funny when doctors and physicians call or ask you for advice. As I tell them as I tell everyone that comes to me for advice. I am not a doctor nor pharmacist. So I am not here to recommend. I am just here to give you advice from what seems to work for many of my customers. (Just covering my butt, lol)

Fish Oil

Fish oil can sound gross to take, but the truth is that it has many wonderful benefits to it. It is a good source of Omega 3's . As many meats out there have Omega 6's which is also is good for the body. Having a balance of omega 3's in the body is important. The body uses the omega 6's to help with the sensories in our bodies to find out where the pain or issues lies. Then the omega 3's go into the body and help with restoring it back to its normal functions.
The omega 3's can be broken from there. The two parts that most people focus upon are your have your EPA and your DHA.

The EPA helps a lot with the body restoration. I have seen many customers come in and use it for their joint pain, arthritis and overall body pain. And a good number of them find much relief off of it. EPA's are also responsible for neurodegenerative issues such as MS and Parkinson’s.

The DHA helps a lot with the mind function. I find mothers to be coming in to get fish oil with higher levels of DHA, as it has helps with the developing brain tissue in the fetus. Also there are a quite a few parents who give it to their children as a method for helping kids with ADHD. Not only do I see people give it to there kids but I do also see a growing number of people giving it to their parents, to help with dementia and alzheimer's. The DHA helps with focus and attention.

Fish oil is not the only source of Omega 3's that is out there. You also can get it from flax oil, walnuts, chia seeds and many other sources, even algae. These are good way for vegetarians and vegans to be able to get the omega 3's we need.
