HEALTHY LIVING: PUTTING PREVENTION INTO PRACTICE.

Today i'm enphazising on healthy living that will improve our health physically, mentally, spiritually and otherwise.

WHAT IS HEALTHY LIVING?
Healthy living is staying physically active,making healthy food choices and maintaining healthy weight as essential to good health.

THE IMPORTANT THINGS YOU CAN DO TO STAY HEALTHY.

  • Get your recommended screaning test.
  • Be tobacco free.
  • Be physically Active.
  • Stay at a healthy weight.
  • Take your preventive medicine if you need them.
    •TYPES OF TEST YOU NEED TO DO. OBESITY TEST:
    Obesity is when an individual is above the normal weight for his/her height or to be overweight. Body mass index is a device used for testing obesity. Obesity is therefore the ratio of weight over height.

    RETROVIRAL SCREANING(RVS):
    These are HIV tests done to detect the presence of human immonodeficiency virus(HIV) the virus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS).

BLOOD SUGAR TEST: This is the test used to diagnosed diabetes. The Normal range of sugar content in the body is from 70Mg/dL to 120Mg/dL if it is 125Mg/dL- 126Mg/dL, This means the person is diabetic. WIDAL TEST(Typhoid fever): This is a test done to detect the presence of salmonella enterica serotype typhi bacteria. The bacteria are deposited in water or food.

MALARIA PARASITE TEST:
This is a test done to detect plasmodium falciparum which causes malaria. It is being transmitted through a female Anophoeles mosquito.

Another important thing is :

BE TOBACCO FREE: Tobacco contains alkaloid nicotin,which is a stimulant and harmala alkaloids. Dried tobacco leaves are used for smoking in cigarettes,pipe tobacco etc.They can also be consumed as snuff,chewing tobacco etc.

EFFECTS OF TOBACCO SMOKING. Tobacco smoking causes lung cancer, it is also the major risk of heart attacks,strokes,chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD), High blood pressure, low sperm count and erectile dysfunction.It causes premature birth and miscarriages and low birth weight among pregnant smokers.These effects depend on the number of years that a person smokes. Each cigarette that is smoked is estimated to shorten life by an avarage of 11 minutes.

BE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE: This is any body movement that requires more energy than resting.Examples are dancing,walking,swimming etc. This reduces the risk of chronic diseases like stroke,high blood pressure etc.

EAT HEALTHY DIET: Healthy diet helps in improving the overall health. Eat at 400grams of fruits and vegetables(potatoes,sweet potatoes,cassava and beans). Limit the intake of sugar. Eat salt less than 5grams per day. Avoid food contaminated by human pathogens. Drink Enough water . Drink alcohol in moderation.

TAKE YOUR PREVENTIVE MEDICINE IF YOU NEED THEM.
Taking of preventive medicine does not mean you should wait till you are being affected by aparticular disease. Take drugs that will be not give room for the disease to infect your body system. If you are affected, endeavor to take your preventive drugs which will help the disease not to get to the next stage(halt).

CONCLUSION. Being read what healthy living is all about. How to stay healthy, types of test to do etc. We also need to play our own role by enlightening others who do not know about healthy living. Our health matters alot.If we are not healthy, we won't function well in our different fields.Take precautions today and stay healthy.
