Theacrine: A new drug in the market

in #health7 years ago

Theacrine is a new ingredient used in preworkouts formulas.

Caffeine is one of the most effective key ingredient in almost every pre-workout supplement on the market.

There is a problem with caffeine though, it's addictive. Do you remember the first day you took a preworkout?

You walked into the gym and felt like you could rip the squat rack out of the ground. Now when you take the same supplement you maybe feel a little drop in your energy, that feeling is gone.

If you want to really maximize your performance you should cycle on and off regularly.

The ideal supplement would be one that can be used to produce a similar effect without the habituation.

This is where theacrine comes into the picture.

What is it?

It has a molecular structure very similar to caffeine and is derived from caffeine. It is being manufactured synthetically in laboratories for research and performance.

Since its structure is similar to caffeine, it functions very similarly i.e. to alter adenosine signalling in the brain that's how caffeine works. It also enhances dopamine level (the feel good hormone).

We can’t be 100% everyday. We often need something to push us through tough days or the one's where we feel demotivated. I use it to power me. But as I said, I follow a cycle.

Theacrine as a enhancement supplement

Theacrine has shown very similar effects on fatigue in people to caffeine, suggesting it may be a great supplement to enhance performance.

While 200 mg reduces fatigue, doses of 275 mg have been shown to increase performance, meaning you can train longer.

Theacrine with Caffeine together.

One unpublished study did demonstrate that consuming theacrine along with caffeine increases the performance supplementation. We know that whole may indeed be greater than the sum of its parts.

If you die from consuming something and can’t train anymore you will experience the ultimate loss of your gains. Whenever a new supplement hits the market, it's tested for it's safety.

Overall theacrine gets a thumbs up for most of the young gym goers. Theacrine passed with flying colors. It looks pretty safe as per the research.

We all need a go to supplement to help push through a brutal workout, be it an early morning or late night training session.

Caffeine is awesome for that, except you habituate to it and you have to increase the dose to exponential levels after a while.

Theacrine has emerged as a potential supplement and it is more resistant than caffeine.
