Obesity can occur when we often consume high-calorie foods. Actually consuming high-calorie foods is not always a problem as long as it is in accordance with the activities carried out every day. However, if we spend more time sitting and not being balanced by active exercise, then the remaining energy from burning calories will be stored in the body in the form of fat. Gradually, the buildup of fat will increase and make the body look bigger or fat.
In addition to high-calorie foods and lack of exercise, obesity can also occur due to:
Heredity (genetic)
Side effects of drugs (antidepressants, antiepileptic drugs, corticosteroids and diabetes)
Complications of certain diseases (Cushing's syndrome and hypothyroidism)
