I am curious what various people do for work or as a hobby. I am specifically targeting disabled individuals who can no longer hold down a standard job.
I guess I am looking for ideas. I applied for my social security disability and I am already qualified and approved through work insurance and have been out of work since June of this year. I am seeking alternative income or just something more to do with my life. I can no longer do the physical aspects of work. Something to do with the lesions placement and the fatigue it causes. My body becomes exhausted too quickly (like within 10 minutes of activities such as raking or vacuuming). If I don't stop at this point I get flushed, blurred vision and weakness. If I am standing my legs start to shake. This has really limited my lifestyle as I was formerly a workaholic who also worked out every morning prior to work and ran around with errands or keeping my child busy when I wasn't working. Now that my son is in Kindergarten I can sign him up for beginners sports to keep him active and busy so he is not confined to the same lifestyle I am , and in short this will keep me busy going to his practices and games.
I need something more for when he is in school. I am bored. I could sit at the computer all day but the constant use of my hands and typing causes numbness and aching pain in my joints. As I am not used to low-impact activities I could really use ideas from people in the same boat, or just from anyone I guess who leads a fairly calm life.
I have gotten used to my couch and Netflix. TV was something I did not formerly spend a lot of time with but I do not want to do this all day and feel it is not productive for my body to sit all the time no matter how much my brain thinks my body is tired. I read as well but my left optic nerves were affected by relapse so I can only read for so long in a day.
What do you do to keep busy Steemians?
