Hello Steemians, thank you for tuning in once more. Today I'd like to talk about a well-known topic: exercising or working out. And even though it is a popular thread in Steemit, I still would like to give you my positive input on the subject.
I'm strong believer that for humans is easier to be bad than to be good. What do I mean? Well, to ilustrate it, think of your favorite food or about what you are craving right in this moment, if you are like me, most likely it is something unhealthy. In fact, the most popular foods are unhealthy; such as pizza, burguers, fried chicken, french fries, ice cream, etc. And even though some people do love to live a healthy life style (eating healthier and exercising) probably at some period of time in their lives they had those same bad habits that we have. I mean, who are we kidding? You can't tell me that eating a Caesar salad with no dressing, no croutons, no cheese is better than having a double meat burguer with extra cheese, bacon and large side of fries.
Another example is actually exercising. Most of us don't like exercising, and even people that go to the gym to work out their muscles struggle sometimes with their cardiovascular exercises. Once again, many of us rather put a good movie on, microwave a bag of popcorn, and finish with a cold bowl of ice cream instead of going out to do some kind of exercise activity (especially here in California, temperatures are +115 degrees)
Therefore, it is clear that it's easier to stick to our bad habits. But, why should you make an effort to exercise? Well, let me share with you a few reasons why I think making some time to exercise is worth it.
Health: You probably have been told this your whole life by your parents, at school or pretty much everywhere, but exercising is one of the best way to stay healthy. With the obesity levels in many countries at their peak in history and with some many diseases like diabetes, high cholesterol, heart problems and others, it is important to see how we can improve our exercise habits. Researches suggest that execising at least 15-30 minutes daily prolongs your life span.
Emotionally: It has been scientifically proved that exercising boosts your happiness levels. Whether we’re fully conscious of it or not, humans always look for ways to be happy. And exercise is one of the most obvious way to take action. That's why it’s not a coincidence that you feel so much better after a good workout: It’s just science.
Phisically: I know this shouldn't be a reason why to exercise because you have to love yourself just the way you are, you are special! But keep in mind that there's always room for improvement, even with your body. It can go from losing a few pounds to even getting to the point of getting abs, or inproving your figure. By working out you can improve your strength, endurance, and physique.
With that being said, why don't we stop for a moment and think of ways in our personal life where we could improve our habits.
Remember, some exercise is better than no exercising at all, so even when you're feeling down and don't want to work out, at least go out and walk or do something active, you will end up feeling better.
