Turmeric Root - This is what it looks like if your not buying ground Turmeric / Haldi
The benefits of Tumeric are plenty including as an anti inflammatory & antioxidant two keys things to help reduce cell damage - Plus it tastes good !
The Simple Steps - Soups are easy of course - it's all about what you put in !
Onions - 1 x red onion, I prefer Red onion - 2 inch fresh Ginger - 2 inch fresh Turmeric - 4 large ish cloves garlic.
Chop onion - chop garlic - grate ginger. Remove husk of turmeric and grate.
Dice 5 carrots - ground Cummin - ( lemon if you like )
Fry off the onion and add ground cumin 2 teaspoons approx 3 mins
Add Ginger, Garlic & Turmeric
Add carrot and fry off until carrot is nicely coated - Add 1 pint veg stock - making your own is better otherwise choose a good quality organic one
Simmer for 20 mins or until carrot is soft - Add squeeze of lemon if required - Blend and serve with a splash of coconut milk ( not necessary but nice if you have some at hand)
