Be Strong, Be fit, Be HEALTHY


Hello dear friends of steemit, I am very happy to be here since my account was recently approved. This is my entry for the contest, well recognized by the community. Made by @healthsquared and sponsored by @sweetsssj Steemit Weekly Health Challenge # 6 which consists of going for a walk, run or bike ride and encourage others to be healthier.

I want to thank this opportunity, first because I am new to this community and I have heard very good comments from good friends. For those who do not know me I am Venezuelan, I am 46 years old, hairdresser by trade, lover of life, sports races, and my love "mi negro", who takes each photo, who accompanies me and gives me support and words of encouragement when I am exhausted.

Everything started about 5 years ago, after being busy and going from work to home, a sedentary life and an unbalanced diet, with the risk of suffering from diseases resulting from it, I have a family history of high blood pressure and diabetes, so better to avoid that and go out to enjoy nature and be more healthy.

This clock marks the beginning of my healthy life, time keeps running, it does not stop and with them we reach every achievement. The time is now, so go out and enjoy life, go for a walk and oxygenate your lungs. .

So let's see how things are in my life...


Usually when we visit the doctor, they usually recommend walking 45 minutes a day, I heard it many times but always said "I'll start tomorrow" which did not happen. One day a friend my dear Adriana came to my house and told me that there was a place where many people went to walk and exercise, there was music and a greenish vegetation. So I decided to accompany her to see how things were.

I proposed it and before starting my activities I did some laboratory tests and my medical check-up. Everything was fine so it was time to start.

Sometimes I go to the gym or just practice with my friend outdoors. I like to do squats, push-ups or just accept the challenges with my friends. In the video you can see that I got the second place, after some running it was harder.

Walking is free... and can be done almost anywhere

Health benefits of walking
1.- It strengthens your heart
2. It lowers levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol while increaing levels of HDL (good cholesterol)
3.- It helps to keep your blood pressure in check
4.- It lowers your risk for diseases, those of us who are active have around 20 % lower risk
5.- IT keeps your weight in check
6.- Helps prevent dementia
7.- Helps prevent osteoporosis
8.- Tones your legs, butt and stomach
9.- Tones your arms; your speend when walking comes from your arms swinging them faster
10.- Walking gives you energy
11.- It makes you happier

I love to walk, since I started this activity 5 years ago I have attended a well known "San Sebastian walk"

It is a religious event with ecological and sporting features that takes place on the last Saturday of January of each year in the vicinity of the city of Maracay - Venezuela. The journey of this pilgrimage begins in the area known as El Limón and ends in the Church of Ocumare de la Costa.

The route is 42 kilometers through the mountains of Henri Pittier National Park

People ends exhausted but happy to step on the arrival.

Running is also free and i love it ...

Practicing a certain sport regularly is good for your health, so many people take advantage of the many benefits of running to stay in shape, as it is easy, practical and simple.

Health benefits of running
1. Anyone can do it. It is not necessary to have special skills to go running, everyone can do it, unless you have a health problem.
-2. It is practical. No expensive equipment is needed, just a pair of suitable shoes; You can take advantage of any time and place to go for a run.

A pair of comfortable shoes, stockings, shorts, cap to protect you from the sun. Water is very important.

To finish I want to invite the whole community, those who already do sports activities to maintain a balance in our body and mind to invite all their friends, family to join to enjoy nature and a better life, be patient, if you are going to start a healthy life, it may be difficult at the beginning but do not be discouraged. You will see that everything will be better. As you can see I must work but there is always time to maintain a healthy life.

On weekends I usually go to the mountains, i have the view of my city and my beautiful Venezuelan flag waiting for me.
