Have you heard of the Lucky Iron Fish (http://www.luckyironfish.com)? If you haven't, strap in!
This thing is the perfect example of somethong simple changing lives. The fish is basic in its concept - it is a hunk of iron that you put into your cooking water to help up your iron intake. It is clinically proven to help people with iron deficiencies and is recommended for women, vegetarians and vegans, athletes or anyone else with low iron. Great, right? Well, the company hopes to do so much more than help with just your personal health.
The company works on a buy one, give one model, meaning for every fish bought they give one to a person in need. Please take a look at their website and see if it is for you. $30 can make a big difference… you also get a cool fish!
Great info, there are so many people going Vegan and vegetarian, many have no idea about minerals an vitamins and getting a balance. Low iron can make you look like you're going through chemotherapy-hair falling out, dark circles, tired, etc... Meat provides the iron for carnivores, so this is good advice and a nice group...
So true. I mean, it isnt an overnight fix, but consistent use can make a huge difference.
Great info! I have never heard of this. Resteeming.
I cook in iron skillets. I wonder if that helps?
