Now you know there are two types in non alcoholic fatty liver disease. 1.simple fatty liver 2.NASH ( non alcholic steatohepatitis ).. Symptoms.....usually there are no symptoms. Some people may feel on and off right upper abdominal pain or discomfort. Diagnosis Usually found to having high liver enzyme levels in blood. Usually serum SGPT level is high. SGOT / gamma GT levels may be high. Serum alkaline phosphatase and other liver function tests normal. Ultra Sound Scan shows enlarged liver with fat infiltration with or without inflammation. Ideally sholud exclude other diseases such as viral hepatitis , Wilson disease and haemochromatosis. If there is any suspicious , liver biopsy confirms the diagnosis.
