In July 20th,2014, Nigerians were caught unware of the arrival of the deadly and contagious disease called EBOLA. The index case as of the time in Nigeria was one Patrick Sawyer, a Liberian who became violently ill on the plane on his arrival to Lagos Nigeria.
Nigeria lost some of her reputable medical personnel due to lack of awareness. Dr Adedevoh and other medical personnel who were the first contact and later lost their lives trying to save Patrick Sawyer are well remembered in this post. May their souls rest in peace.
Almost five (5) years down the line, news has filtered in that EBOLA has resurfaced again.
Government hadn't done enough to create awareness, therefore, this post is aimed at creating awareness. Let the whole world know that Ebola has resurfaced, and preventive measures be put in place to avoid wide spread.
This is not to say that, Ebola is in Nigeria right away, but to enlighten the populace and the immigration officials at the border and in the airport to take heed.
What is Ebola?
"Ebola, also known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever or Ebola viral disease, is a rare and deadly illness caused by one of the strains of Ebola virus. This viral agent is regarded as a prototype pathogen of viral hemorrhagic fever, with high fatality rates in humans and primates".

Thank you for the enlightenement, @sunny4glow . I read in the dailies a few days ago that Ebola has resurfaced in DR Congo. Nigeria has been warned to be vigilant. Hopefully, we will not play politics with Ebola Virus Disease(EVD). If we do, many lives would be lost. Cheers.
@maryfavour.
Exactly ma, I still cant understand why much hasn't been said by the government to enlighten people on this malaise. Thanks alot, appreciate.

Thank you for writing this post. This is an eye- opener. Is suya also part of bush meat? Want to be sure so that I can stop eating it for now.
Hahahahaha, you must be a lover of Suya. Well, suya is not made from bush meats, enjoy your suya but with caution as well, cos the smoke it absorbs has its own adverse effects too.
Thanks .will tread with caution.lol.
