Water, essential to life, humans are made of almost 70% of it, we need two Litres a day.
We know it's important and how much we need it, but are we aware of the quality of water we drink?
We drink our fluids from all types of sources like plastic bottles, the tap and water filters. We feel proud that we are drinking enough water a day, but are we drinking the right type of water? how do we know?
Water pH gives us a value on how acidic or alkaline water is. Unless you have an extremely healthy diet you will most likely require to drink water that is more on the Alkaline side of the pH scale.
Western diet is predominately acidic due to high consumption of sugars and packaged foods. Even with a healthy diet high in meats and grains it is considered an acidic diet. This is bad why?
Well you see, disease thrives in acidic environments. Ailments such as cancer, fibromyalgia, arthritis and many more are worsened by consumption of acidic foods.
If you drink acidic water you will be just adding fuel to the problem. It is very easy to get a pH testing kit from Amazon, or pH strips form your local health food store and test your water.
There are plenty of options on how to get Alkaline water, Santevia is a filter I am using at the moment. Be careful with reverse osmosis, it gives you acidic water, same with distilled water, it is on the more acidic range.
Drinking a glass of water at room temperature with lemon every morning, upon awaking increases alkalinity, prepares digestive system and detoxes the body
A nice way of making water fun and more nutrient rich is by adding some fruits to it
Check out some of the testing people have done on different labels of bottled drinking water. It is is pretty eye opening to see some of the most popular brands are really bad for us.
Hope this post was helpful.

Wow! Thanks for this, I never thought to do an acidity test on water before drinking. I love water but I never thought that certain waters can have different benefits.
Something to watch out for :)
You know I went to college in a city that consistently had the worst water in the USA. We would just drink quality packaged water because even filter are relatively ineffective. I'm glad that you are highlighting this issue.
