I like the idea of doing one category at a time, instead of one room at a time. If I try to work in one room, I actually feel overwhelmed, cause usually there's so much going on in that single room! I'll have to try doing it by category instead :)

yes, this is only one of the revolutionary aspects of her method. we got the book for $1 at our local goodwill and would highly recommend finding it used. it's a short book and both of us found our cleaning and organizing (and getting rid of clothes) blocks lightened as we read her words. Some magic right there! But yes, the categories are important as they focus on least attachments first and get into the harder stuff later. also the focus on does this bring me joy ... is at the heart of why we need our "stuff" anyway- otherwise, isn't it just weighing us down? good luck!
