Sometimes it is directly used on wounds or skin because of its medicinal properties. It's sweetness enhance the taste of tea, desserts, pancakes and many other recipes. Honey is not just bounded in the kitchen, it also has great importance almost in all the religions. Do you know honey is also consumed with an apple during the Jewish new year?
Here are a few benefits of honey that are really important to know
1. Cures Burns, Wounds, And Ulcers
Honey is used to cure burns, wounds, and ulcers because of its antibacterial and anti-fungal characteristics. All varieties of honey are antibacterial because bees add an enzyme in honey that makes hydrogen peroxide. Honey is also useful in the treatment of acne. Honey gives a beautiful glow to your skin when applied directly on the skin. According to an article in Jundishapur Journal of Natural Pharmaceutical Products, scientists found that the use of honey can also heal wounds in acute cases.
Honey also has an anti-inflammatory property, so it provides relief in pain which is caused by burning and helps decrease inflammatory response very rapidly in such patients. Another research also proved that honey could also help to prevent the infection of people who are suffering from ulcers, and in ancient time honey had been used as a wound dressing and increase the healing speed.
2. Treats Tooth Decay And Gingivitis
Honey has antimicrobial properties which can treat the gingivitis and periodontal disease. Many kinds of research prove that by just chewing or sucking the honey, it can help to reduce the plaque by more than 40 percent. It also helps in the reduction of bleeding sites in people who are suffering from gingivitis. Few researchers from India, also proved that honey is more beneficial for dental health if someone wants to go with the natural method of treatment.
This research team explored many useful methods to improve the dental health and the use of honey was one of them. They concluded that honey can act just as well as chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash for treating gingivitis (it is a medicinal mouthwash which is often used to treat gingivitis) and a chewing gum that contains xylitol (a sugar alcohol) that has the ability to fight tooth decay. These various studies about honey concluded that honey could work as well as chemical mouthwash, and can do better than xylitol for reducing plaque.
3. Prevents Cancer
According to the various studies which have been done on mice and have also been published in an online medical journal, it has been shown that honey can stop or limit the growth of breast, skin and colon cancers. Not only that, it can even help to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy. According to another study, it was discovered that honey has anti mutagenic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities which contribute to preventing cancer.
4. Boosts Immunity
Many scientists have reported in various journals that the components present in honey could also stimulate immune cells in the body and increase the ability of the body to fight against the deadly bacteria and viruses. Honey is also very effective against a sore throat which is caused by a bug and Streptococcus.
5. Improves Digestion And Soothes Acid Reflux
Honey also has antibiotic properties which make it beneficial for any digestive disorders that are caused by bacterias. The list of disorder also includes gas, abdominal pain, acid reflux, persistent bloating or diarrhea. Honey reduces inflammation and lightens the discomfort in the body because of its naturally occurring pre biotic content.

Honey could be good for human being's health but it is a result of torture of infinite no of sentient beings, bees. Bees do not produce honey for human being. It is the same case if someone comes to our home, kicked us out and steal our property. If bees make honey for human being they would not have attacked on us when we steal their honey.
