What cardio actually is?

Cardio is short term for cardiovascular exercise. it is exercise without resistance to get your heart beating fast for long periods, like jogging, skipping rope, and swimming. it is used for weightloss by burning calories, and to increase fitness levels.Cardio exercise tops the recommendations for fitness, health, and burning calories.

Types of cardio

It is of two types:-

⦁ Aerobic
Exercise requires energy. When we exercise aerobically our bodies use glycogen and fat as fuel.With aerobic exercise oxygen is carried through your breath to the muscles giving them the energy needed to sustain the effort.It improves out health and quality of life.Swimming,running at normal speed are some examples of aerobic cardio.

⦁ Anaerobic
Oxygen is not present with anaerobic exercise.This exercise requires maximum level of exertion.This exercise is very beneficial for building endurance. Sprinting and weightlifting are some examples of anaerobic cardio.

Is cardio beneficial?

In this busy world nobody has time,no one is looking after their health.This is the main reason why health issues are becoming common in everyone's life.Here the importance of cardio comes out.15-20 minutes of cardio daily can improve health to a great level.

Surprising benefits of doing cardio

Loose weight

If you are overweight then cardio can be of great advantage to you.Cardio helps you to burn calories and if regularly followed along with healthy diet you can definitely shed some fat.Before losing some weight , the question on everyone's mind is whether they start cardio or weight training?
Cardio helps you to burn more calories than weight training in shorter period of time. But if a person is not overweight and he is doing hours of cardio then may lead to muscle loss along with fat loss.so combine cardio with weight training to achieve greater benefits and physique you want.

Improves sexual health

There is a never ending list of benefits of cardio like losing fat,improves health etc. But if these reasons are not compelling enough then this reason will do the job:- better sexual health.
As you may know, sexual performance is largely determined by your overall general health, and the more you can do to improve your fitness level, the better your sex life can be.

Reduce heart diseases

Some studies shows that regular exercise lowers blood sugar level ,increase good cholesterol .Exercise helps dilate body's blood vessels and helps blood to circulate more freely.A study at Harvard shows that there is a 20% reduction in heart diseases for those who frequently do exercise.

Increased metabolism

One of the main reason of performing cardio is its effect on metabolism.Despite increasing heart rate , cardio also increase speed of various processes in our body, also called metabolism.

The benefits of cardio has a never ending list. So if you have never done any exercise in your lifetime , don't worry because its never too late to start.
