In the last decade there has been a rise in this word called Superfoods. I keep hearing it all the time this is the new super food and then everyone gets on the hype train and the product is probably overpriced and is ripping people off (in some cases). From my observations Everything that is on natures table aka vegetables, Is good for you. So no I don't believe in the superfood hype because every food is SUPER. We need to get back to simplicity of what right in front of our faces.
One of the first things I want to talk about is Climate. We all know in summer time eating a fresh watermelon on a hot sunny day is amazing. Did you know that watermelon contains 93% water it's got a hard casing and our head is comprised of 90%+ with a hard casing. now that's using your melon :P. The affect on the body from eating watermelon is more water and creates a thinner blood. A thinner blood allows us to feel cooler in a hot climate. Now that's super :).
As we go through Different seasons the water content of fruit and vegetables vary's a lot. So when we think about it if we want to stay warmer in cooler months eating low water content foods are more ideal and we are in luck because that's what grows in the colder seasons.
The biggest indicator for eating in season is knowing that the plant is at it's strongest, Usually what happens when a plant is still around once its getting out of season it gets attacked by bugs galore. What if this is natures process, consuming the immune depleted substances to make way for the plants that are thriving. What if when we don't eat seasonally we become immune deficient and we start getting all sorts of bacteria and diseases festering within us because we aren't aligning ourselves to natures clock.
When it comes to following your guts instincts I think that's a no brainer :P. Speaking of which the more locally we eat the more local good bacteria we are introducing to our gut flora. Which is what we need to fight the bad bacteria that we don't want. There have been huge studies correlating general well being and health correlating to our gut health, What if because of eating processed foods and produce laden in pesticide, fungicides and insecticides we are committing suicide to our gut bacteria. Let alone the chlorine in the water.
The World is in a crisis, More and more people are getting sicker and sicker but they say we are living longer, But who wants a longer suffering life, reliant on a medical establishment that only cares about how much money they can make off you.
The more we reconnect to our surroundings and put our feet to the ground and simply get amongst the earth. We can get grounded in not only our health but the foundations of health. I am simply wanting share what resonates with me and how it's empowered my life and how it can empowers yours. everything lives according to it's environment so creating the right environment for our body will get the good gut flora we need. So eat how nature intended us to eat locally, fresh, organic and best of all made with love! Then we can all be SUPER. Follow to get more health posts :).

Great post man! However, I don't think superfoods are actually a hype, is more a lifestyle kind of thing. Many people nowadays consume them for the huge benefits they provide for your health as well as for the vitamins and minerals they carry. For example, as far as I am concerned, coconut oil, or as we call it in spanish, "aceite de coco", is incredible due to its MCT and their saturated fats acting as quick energy. In fact, they are being sold even at the supermarket, it's crazy! Not far ago I stumble across with a website wich explained very clearly all of this, I think it was this one: https://www.superalimentos24.com/aceite-de-coco/ - It is in Spanish, but you can just translate it and read everything about it.
