Diabetes And You~How To Fight Against This COMMON Disease

in #health6 years ago

I've had a roller coaster month in July. A barrage of health issues hit all at once and none good and without warning. Well some without warning. My diabetes had some warnings and it really was my fault for not paying attention and not taking care of myself. I'll get into the warnings later.

Once it was confirmed and the shock went away, I went to work to read whatever I could. I knew diabetes had been on the rise, just not how much. SHOCKING! The rise in this disease should make everyone take notice and do something now, not after you have it. Our food has been so tainted and our conditioning to foods so skewed, this disease will continue to rise causing more heart disease. Someone is profiting from this somewhere. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but it's true.

So after reading until my eyes were bleeding, the conclusion is, this can be reversed, this can be cured. Whew! The relief was like a warm blanket being wrapped around me. The key~Ketogenics Diet. Who knew this thing would be a cure for this rising disease doctors can't wait to get you on medications for. See, 2 years ago I was pre-diabetic and the doctor should have intervened then! More proof they want you sick.

Now, I am somewhat allergic to almonds. A few years back I was getting an itchy throat after eating these and so I've stopped eating anything with them for about 2 years now. Coconut flour and other flours to my rescue. Breads were my downfall and my demise. I haven't had bread in my house for a month now. Changing how to eat has been the hardest. I love pasta, it's bad. I love bagels, muffins, popovers & tortillas, they're bad. After healing my forehead & headache from banging my head on the desk, I noticed Keto has all kinds of bread replacements made from eggs. A light at the end of a dark tunnel!

Changing how you eat is HUGE and sucks big time. My whole life revolves around how I was eating. I am not obese either so my weight had little to do with my diabetes, it was all food related and the garbage the world says is "good nutrition" when in fact it's killing us softly and we are smiling all the way to hell! Thanks.

So what were my symptoms I ignored? I urge everyone, no matter your age, weight or how healthy you think you are to take notice of these subtle signs!

#1) My ankles would tingle if I touched them. Although subtle, it was one of the first signs. Because I have neuropathy in my legs & feet, I thought it was related to that when it was really a new sign.

#2) Periods of excessive thirst. Now this wasn't an everyday occurrence! Sometimes I just couldn't seem to quench my thirst. I brushed it off to something I ate, usually pasta or something with a lot of garlic. Happened usually at night too. Nope. Another sign not to be ignored!

#3) Mold in the toilet. This was most perplexing. About a year ago, my toilet began having black mold forming a few days after cleaning. Reading on the internet was zero help! All I got was cleaning solutions when in fact it was high sugar in my urine! Since cutting out breads/pastas the toilet has stayed clean. How weird it this? It's a huge sign!

#4) Sometimes I was very tired after eating lunch or dinner ONLY. Breakfast was not the issue it was lunch & dinner. I would get so tired after meeting someone for lunch I could barely drive home. All I wanted to do was shut my eyes. Think Thanksgiving and how tired you are from the meal, I was having this several times a week. Big warning!

#5) Not being more proactive on yearly physicals. I missed one year of a yearly checkup and I'm paying the price now. I also should have been screaming about the pre-diabetic warning on my last fasting blood test. Be mindful of these results and save them in a file labeled "medical" so you can monitor this yourself. Don't ignore it! Don't skip that yearly physical either! Be your own doctor and be vocal. Only you care about you!

As I have accepted this hard right turn in my life, I wish to warn others of my mistakes but more importantly, warn of the early signs! Our eating has to change to beat this! Something so innocent like bread is slowly killing us! Grains are killing us! The "experts" like to say "eat more whole grains" they are LYING to you! Avoid them like the plague they are! Start looking into the low carb recipes found all over the net and get rid of the so-called healthy foods. Anything over a single digit in carbs should not be eaten!
