Osteoporosis is from a Greek term for “porous bones". Is a disease where increased bone weakness increases the risk of a broken bone which is most common among elderly people. Bones like the VERTEBRAE BONE

Are the once that mostly get broken. It weakens gradually till when it finally breaks.

Osteoporosis is common with age related issues,about 15% of white people in their 50's and 70% of those above 80. Is most common among women. Some of the medications that increase the rate of bone loss are some antiseizure medication,chemotherapy,proton pump inhibitors and glucocorticosteroids.

Common causes of osteoporosis include
1)when the bone is lesser or higher than supposed
2)menopause
3)Diseases like hyperthyroidism, kidney disease and surgical removal of ovaries.
4)smoking

You can prevent the disease in the following ways
1)proper diet
2)exercise
3)No smoking
4)No alcohol intake
