Hello my sweet munchie pies :)
Today I want to talk about Lastovo and my little break with wonderful people and amazing nature. For the past few weekends, I've been working a bit harder than usual because of the lack of time for completing the two as I like. Lastovo is a paradise for your soul so sit back and read a little story :)
Lastovo is an island in Croatia, south Dalmatia, that gathers approximately 720 people. It has 42 little islands around it and over 40 old churches on it. Pretty storytelling if you ask me. I'm sad I don't know the history perfect but we asked local people and they didn't hesitate to spread the word.
70% of the surface is covered with forest and the surroundings are beautiful. You can see a lot on this island and one thing I found very interesting is how the people are used to such raw conditions if I may say it like that. People are making olive oil and vine, some are fishing and others do something else. Every village is beautiful uniquely and people there are kind and helpful.
It is an island of the stars, as many have been naming it like that because the nights there are under the light of those stars, not the darkness of the night. Can you imagine not being in the darkness in the middle of the night. Yeah... the sky there is so clear...
They even have this awesome star map that represents the sky above Lastovo island which is very memorizing and fun to use. Not much to deal with but it is full of details you can explore.
Yeah... Sorry for the f**k part but what can I do. People are like that.
Lastovo island is awesome to explore and also you can find many plants that are good or not so good for you. Some of them are even both. One of the nature goods we ate was blackberry. Sweer delicious blackberry a little bit small but full of juices. You can definitely see the difference between this one and a bought one. I will sign for these, yes, please! :)
We walked a bit, we swam, we got sunburned. We didn't get bit by a snake! Everything was very low stress and fun and socializing orientated.
Awesome walk with very med people. When we got to village Lastovo my boyfriend realized we are walking on and on by this very beautiful plant. On the third day he stopped and called me to check this plant on the internet.
It was a castor oil plant and while very beautiful, it can be deadly if you eat her seeds. Be careful and watch yourself in nature. She helps us but she can also be not so nice. Here in Croatia, we put her oil on our skin and hair and we use it in beauty products. It is known for its several health improving components.
Anyway, it was and it is very nice to go there every year and enjoy its beauties. Lastovo has much to ofer and I'm telling you, you should go there and rest you spirit. Take a break my human.
