Many people around us are the risk of heart diseases. Due to lack of proper knowledge about this, people are less aware, causing the risks to increase as well. Find out with Tonic the kind of food and bad habits that increase the risk of heart diseases:

Hypertension is a fatal disease which if not controlled through proper treatment and lifestyle can increase the chances of strokes and heart attacks significantly. There are many patients who consume medicines only when they feel unwell. This is a bad habit. Many are even unaware that they are suffering from hypertension. Hence, it is advisable to measure blood pressure twice every year.
Excess fat in blood increases the risk of coronary diseases (heart attack). Moreover, if a layer of fat deposits in the blood stream, it increases the risk of various diseases like- stroke, gangrene in the feet, kidney diseases etc. Hence, the level of fat should be in control to prevent these diseases.

Diabetes is also risky for the heart. Regular exercise and diabetes control measures reduce the harmful effects of diabetes significantly.
Most of the heart patients in our country are smokers. These smokers are at greater risk of heart diseases than non-smokers.

Heart problems are a serious issue. However, by taking preventive measures, these effects can be reduced significantly. Thus, we have to be conscious about the risk factors of this disease:

Keeping diabetes and high blood pressure under control.

Developing a regular habit of walking and doing exercise.
Reducing intake of food high in fat content. This will also keep body weight in check.
Giving up the habit of smoking.
If suffering from heart disease, taking proper advice from doctors regarding food, exercise, medicines and above all, about the treatment.

Diet is a vital factor in controlling heart diseases. Thus, it is necessary to bring necessary changes to the diet.

Refrain from consuming egg yolk. Do not consume the brain and liver of dairy animals. Prevent consuming dairy products like- Ghee, Cheese, Butter.
Reduce consumption of chicken, cows, goats and duck meat.

However, some meat reduces heart diseases. Hilsha and other sea fish, plant oils like- soybean, sunflower, nuts and olives help increase the amount of beneficial fat like HDL and reduce the amount of harmful fat like LDL and triglycerides.!
