Valentine's Day, on February 14 is a day where lovers and those in love express their love in the Western World.
This feast is now primarily associated with lovers who exchange notes in the form of "valentines". Modern Valentine's symbols include a heart-shaped card and an image of a winged Cupid. Beginning in the nineteenth century, the tradition of writing a statement of love statement commenced the production of greeting cards in bulk. The Greeting Card Association estimates that worldwide about one billion valentine cards are shipped per year. [1] This makes this holiday the second biggest holiday after Christmas where the greeting cards are sent. This same association also estimates that women buy about 85% of all valentine cards.
In the United States beginning in the second half of the 20th century, the tradition of exchanging cards was expanded and included the giving of all kinds of gifts, usually by men to women. The gifts are usually roses and chocolates. Beginning in the 1980s, the diamond industry began promoting Valentine's Day as an opportunity to provide jewelry.
A date on Valentine's Day is often considered that the dating partner is involved in a serious relationship. Actually Valentine is a day of love, not just to boyfriend or lover, Valentine is the biggest day in the matter of romance and does not mean other than Valentine does not feel love.
Hmm, this is interesting ! :)
Is not valentine's day yet but that is good. Do you have an idea about what could be romantic to a female?
