How many of you all hate taking medicine s? the bitter taste of tablets , the nausea after taking certain antibiotics is something that am sure most of us have experienced and dislike the most.
Can medicines be avoided?
To a certain extent yes.
Here is some everyday foods that can boost our immunity or immune system and help us keep these medicines at bay and allow our body s own defense mechanism to fight some of the bacteria and viruses that cause infection and diseases.
CITRUS FRUITS
With a wide variety to choose from

Oranges
Tangerines
These citrus fruits are known to contain Vitamin C , which helps to increase the production of white blood cells, which are essential for fighting common infections like cold. Squeezing any of these citrus fruits into a mug of hot water and sipping it during the day will definitely help to reduce the length and severity of cold.

GINGER
Ginger is one more ingredient which we can rely on when we have cold or sore throat or other inflammatory illness. Ginger is known to contain anti oxidants, anti inflammatory compounds, and therapeutic compounds like gingerol which will help to fight numerous infections. Ginger can be chopped up and mixed in hot water, lime and honey can reduce throat infection in people prone have regular bouts of sore throat.

GARLIC
Garlic as we have known is one of the natures best medicines and has been used for centuries. Garlic contains active ingredient allicin, which fights infection and bacteria's. Studies have shown that garlic takers are less likely to catch a cold. Adding few cloves of crushed garlic everyday in your cooking is an effective way of consuming garlic.

YOGURT
Probiotics, or the "live active cultures" found in yogurt, are healthy bacteria that keep the gut and intestinal tract free of disease-causing germs. Yogurts if taken as supplement once or twice a week is effective in boosting immunity. Lactobacillus reuteria a specific probiotic found in yogurt is known to stimulate white blood cells.

Green tea is a beverage that has been consumed since ancient times for its perceived effects on health. Now consumed globally as a favored beverage, green tea is of greater scientific interest, due to its potentially positive effects on the mind and body, particularly on the immune system. By strengthening immune agents, protecting against oxidative stress that can damage cells and preventing autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis, green tea is thought to be highly beneficial for the human body as the antioxidants in green tea are beneficial in generally strengthening the immune system.

Vegetables come loaded with fiber and nutrients and are some of the healthiest foods on the planet. Green leafy vegetables like spinach, broccoli, and cabbages are loaded with essential vitamins and antioxidants that boost immune system functioning. It turns out these green leafy veggies are the source of a chemical signal that is important to a fully functioning immune system
