Introduction
What is heaven? Is it real? Where is it located? These are some of the frequently asked questions when it has to do with the word “Heaven.” I start by saying according to Oxford Advanced Learners’ Dictionary; heaven is defined as the place believed to be the home of God where good people go when they die: the kingdom of heaven. The Bible defines heaven as the home of God, angels and saints. Heaven is real because the Bible says so and by the grace of God according to several testimonies from people who have tested death and survived it. Heaven is located up above beyond the skies according to several accounts in the Bible and by personal testimonies from people who had experienced death. No word on earth can quantify in terms of beauty, splendor, glory, peace, joy, security and love that is found in heaven. No government on earth can be compared to that of heaven. No technological advancement in the world today or yet to come can in anyway match that of heaven. The Bible describes heaven as a city with mansions, with twelve gates, whose streets are made of gold and precious stones, a place with God as its source of light, a light so intense that the sun is like the moon. A place for the saint with twenty four elders seated on thrones and angels too numerous to mention. It’s a sorrow-free place filled with everlasting joy, love, peace and harmony with trees and streams of life. Heaven is a place no human should ever fail to enter. However, the world today belittles heaven and makes it look imaginary through seminars, articles, movies, songs, books, sermons and in our educational system, which leads to eliminating any form of hope for people to dream of a better life after death. The consequence of failing to enter into heaven is eternal condemnation in the pit of hell, which burns with an everlasting fire the souls of sinners. To be a part of heaven there are conditions, which must be met.
Conditions to Enter Heaven: There are no country on earth without rules, which are established with one primary objective, which is to maintain law and order. Likewise the kingdom of heaven has rules that must be followed while on earth to qualify as its citizen. The rules include; you must accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior; living a holy life by walking in total obedience to the laws of God; and conducting regular soul – searching to ensure that your standing with your maker is right at all times. Firstly, to accept the Lord Jesus Christ into your life is quiet simple and can be carried out anywhere and at any time, all you need to do is say “Lord Jesus, I confess am a sinner, forgive me of my sins, I believe you are the son of God, who died for me and who rose from the dead and is seated at the right hand of God making intercession for us.” Secondly, you must live in holiness by walking in total obedience to the laws of God. To be able to do this, all you need to do are, love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.
Finally, a regular soul - searching is needful to ensure at all times your standing with God is right. Soul – searching is an act of deep thought of all your actions and words to know if they were wrong or right. In the Bible (Psalms 4) we were encouraged by King David to do so. The best way to avoid judgment, is to judge yourself via soul – searching. It is through soul – searching you come to realize that some of the things you did that you thought were right, were indeed wrong, which gives you room for repentance and helps maintain your right standing with your maker. This is the surest way to heaven.
Conclusion
From time memorial, men all over the world seek for the road that leads to paradise, this adventure has led to indulgence in all sorts of scientific and diabolical quest which yielded little or no result, because the answer which they seek are all enclosed in the volume of the Bible. Little did they know that the surest way to paradise lies in acceptance of Jesus Christ as their savior, living righteously with total obedience to His will and frequent soul – searching. One who applies these principles is sure to enter heaven.
