Like the Alphabet, The letters in Hebrew are called the Alef - Beyt and they are presented on my blog from bottom to the top so you can learn them order, then to read them right to left. You will see what the original "Bible" said and what the names meant as they went through the stories of old.
This letter is known by two names, Tsade comes from the verb to hunt, and symbolizes a "fish hook" and the other name for this letter is Tsadik which means "righteous"
It is the eighteenth letter. It is a consonant . Tsade is also the number 90, The sofit form is 900
They both are pronounce "ts" as in the word "lets" but the hard part is when it starts a word.
Yeshua has many titles, one of which is The Righteous One pronounced "Ha Tsadik"

Let's also start studying our vowels. There are five sounds for them.
Here is a chart.
- the square represents any letter.
- the vowels are positioned as they would be in a written word.
- there are five lines of vowels - five sounds
On the left a word that contains the vowel sound
On the right a representation of that sound.
They are nearly the same as in Spanish and in the same order!
I have to say that there are slight differences - one might be a little longer than the one next to it, but the sound is the same. There are also combinations that may extend the sound of a vowel. I will leave this chart on the next seven lessons as we go through more letters.

Tzadik/Zadik/Sadiq [tsaˈdik] (Hebrew: צדיק, "Righteous one", pl. tzadikim [tsadiˈkim] צדיקים ṣadiqim) is a title given to people considered Righteous, such as Biblical figures and later Spiritual Masters. The root of the word ṣadiq, is ṣ-d-q (צדק tzedek), which means "Justice" or "Righteousness".
Tzadik is also the root of the word tzedakah ('charity', literally 'righteousness'). The term tzadik "Righteous", and its associated meanings, developed in Rabbinic thought from its Talmudic contrast with hasid ("Pious" Honorific), to its exploration in Ethical literature, and its esoteric spiritualisation in the Mystical Tradition.

After reading some of your comments, I noticed that you said you learned Hebrew from scratch? That's awesome! If i wasn't a native Hebrew speaker, I would probably quit trying after an hour. It's one of the hardest languages ever.

St Jerome (c. 347 – 420) linked "Nazarene" to a verse in the Book of Isaiah, claiming that "Nazarene" was the Hebrew reading of a word scholars read as ne·tzer (branch). נֵ֫צֶר,

This prophecy by Isaiah was extremely popular in New Testament times and is also referred to in Romans and Revelation.

History Tsade
The three Ancient pictograph possibilities for this letter are , and . The word tsad means "side," but is also related to the idea of a stronghold, which is often built on the side of a mountain. The pictograph is a picture of a trail as leading up to a destination or stronghold. Most ancient Semitic alphabets used pictographs which closely resemble , indicating that this was most likely the original form of the letter.
The modern name for this letter is tsade, also meaning side, and is a child root from the word tsad . The phonetic sound of this letter is a "ts" in both ancient and modern Hebrew.
The early pictograph evolved into in the Middle Semitic script and continued to evolve into in the Late Semitic Script. From the middle Semitic script came the Modern Hebrew צ and ץ. Modern Greek and Latin have no letter derived from this Semitic letter.

The feminine noun mitzvah (מִצְוָה) occurs over 180 times in the Masoretic Text of the Hebrew Bible. The first use is in Genesis 26:5 where God says that Abraham has "obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments (מִצְוֹתַי mitzvotai), my statutes, and my laws". In the Septuagint the word is usually translated with entole (ἐντολὴ). In Second Temple period funeral inscriptions the epithet phil-entolos, "lover of the commandments", was sometimes inscribed on Jewish tombs. Other words are also used in Hebrew for commands and statutes, for example the Ten Commandments (עשרת הדיברות) are the "Ten Words" (via: Wiki)
