Cliff Jumping Spots in Eastern Pennsylvania and more!

in #hede-io7 years ago (edited)

cliff jumping is driving out to any place with a body of water and a natural formation of rocks or land to jump off of them. i have been cliff diving in my home state of pennsylvania for about three years. the adventure is what makes it memorable, and many thrill-seekers travel to find the best spots in the country. eastern pennsylvania definitely holds some remarkable cliff jumping spots. some of my favorite trips/spots i've jumped at before are devils pool in north philadelphia; the atmosphere is great and there are many people there during the hot summer days. another good spot is the jacobsburg quarry in jacobsburg, pa, the highest jump is forty-two feet, and my buddy john threw a double backflip at this spot. my favorite spot i've ever been to is peace rock in hamburg, pa. the memories i've made here are unforgettable, and there would always be a crowd of teenagers there. the spot had a forty-five foot jump and a twenty-five foot rope swing. this spot has now been shut down by the police because someone died there when they jumped the forty-five foot jump intoxicated, and was caught by the current.
the joy of cliff diving with your friends on a hot summer day is unimaginable, and you will always find someone else there doing the same. cliff jumping gets you out of the house, and is especially clutch when you don't have a friend with a pool.
