General Care: The Canary Island ivy likes sun or shade but dislikes being kept too warm. Keep it where the temperature will not exceed 20°C (68°F). In rooms warmer than this, the atmosphere is likely to be too dry and the leaf tips and edges will turn brown. In winter, the variegation tends to fade a little, but once light intensities increase in spring, the brighter pigments return.
Like all ivies, Hedera canar-icusis is a good climber or trailer, but to climb will need the support of a frame, trellis or cane. It is a useful plant for a porch or unheated conservatory. Take care not to over-water this ivy, but let the compost become somewhat diy between waterings.
