Competition is good but we need ethical competitors.
I just read this POST & the comments are mind-blowing.
I don't know what's going on but I feel there are a lot of things hidden. We need transparency.
I know I am just a little fish here but I am damn worried about the future of Steem.
I really need some news about what's going on because I don't feel I am motivated enough to keep promoting steem and spending my time here.

Relax @jwolf, @ned is not Steem. Yes, he's an important guy, but the community is more important. I think SMT's will be quite successfull and that would be huge for Steem.
The whole idea that the investment returns on crypto coins are so great is because of the risky nature of things.

You can read as much good about steem/steemit and a lot of bad as well.
Sometimes I get nervous as well but I still believe in the community and the platform we got here.
Maybe you need just a break from steemit and/or crypto.
I just talked with a friend that I am not doing as well as before $ wise but there are times like these.

An answer that is quite simple is own both.
I own EOS and have before I heard of SMT's... but I can build (mine) Steem here, I cannot on EOS. And think Steem is already working, EOS is still a maybe.

Yes it's normal to be concerned when things go wrong, it's human nature but let us not give up.
I joined this platform this January but I can confidently say that steemit is really interesting community to be in.
Let's not lose hope, bitcoin is where it is today because of continued awareness and usage. Our collective effort will make steem reach it's zenith.

We have to take into account that over a steemit-like competitor, we would have the advantage of being here first. And that is huge. I do agree that a bit more transparency is needed but I would not get too concerned just yet.
What i heard is that a new social media platform same like Steemit will be made based on EOS as crypto-currency!!!
On the other side don't feel sad or unmotivated as competition is always more then welcome and in time is just going to bring good changes on our platform.
Steemit will be and will continue to be with or without some major guys around even do we are talking here about Dan who left the boat!
All we have to do is to keep on doing what we did till now and Steem On!
We gain to detect into savings account that over a steemit-like competitor, we would enclose the help of core at this point first. And that is huge. I perform harmonize that a fragment extra precision is desirable but I would not search out moreover upset perfectly yet.

87 days to go vor eos i bought some 3 weeks ago. why not use both may the best project win. Steem is already in use why should the baby win against the schild ;)
now for me, the main social network is steemit, and GOLOS is only auxiliary. I will try other networks

both are great competitors but steem will rule in the end
Competition must always exist because it allows, reinventing each day. In social networks happens often, steemit will open the way to new trends because you need variety in terms of models and forms. Many must be the hidden things in this and everything concerning the financial model of the crypto currency. There is a whole universe of things to discover. ..
Hmmm its really discouraging..lets just keep our fingers crossed and hope for something good.it is just not good with steem at all..and l am so hopeful our time and energy here wont be in vain..but theres still hope @jwolf
